I keep wondering if it wouldn't be fun to make a Funtrivia clock, I mean, at what FT time does Tanzen pop in and what time is it for her? Lefois is a night owl but an early bird both, we have lots of insomniacs who always find the light on, Elftwinkle gets up early.
Right now, it's Sunday evening, and I'm on here as usual, but going to make dinner...
So if it's Eastern Standard time that means it's Sunday afternoon in the States where the clock is.

About 14 minutes after you posted that, Bruyere, It's 9:47 am here, on Sunday. I'm off to get a shower and make lasagna for a late lunch! Of course my house it always totally upside down, timewise. Hubby got up at 5 am to watch Italian soccer live and went back to bed at 8:30am. I got up then! Blue and ElfTwinkle are three hours ahead of me, so it's 12:48 pm for them right about now (depending on how fast I get this post out)...I think babymoo is two hours ahead of me..Oh, everyone can speak for themselves! I'm getting a headache!

It's 10:15 pm here where I live. I just finished watching a movie and now I'm trying to write an essay on the topic "What are the negative aspects of scientific, technical and economic progress in the present-day world?" (any ideas?). However, I think I will give up trying pretty soon and go to sleep.

We should put down our time zones, that'll be fun...I bet we have more time zones than many sites! I'm in the European zone, in France.
Tell us what the weather is like to while you're at it, that way we can see the hemisphere difference.
It's really nice, sunny, bit of wind, and cool here...fall colors aren't really setting in though.

I'm in the Eastern European timezone (in Estonia). Weather is pretty nasty here - about -5 degrees Celsius (how much would that be in Fahrenheit?), it is sleeting or snowing outside (can't tell the difference until tomorrow morning), all leaves came down today. The coldest October I can remember.

I'm going for awhile now. But it's 1:10 pm PST (Pacific Standard Time), and it will change next week, to DST (Daylight Savings Time?) We put the clocks BACK one hour, so wherever we had a time difference thing we have to calculate our clock going backwards, BUT, everyone I correspond with doesn't have a change in time! geez.......it's awful!
Today, mid-October, it's very good conditions here! Fall colours are here, but we're rather coniferous and don't get the blazing colour of back east! It's around 5 C and the sun is actually shining. We get a lot of rain! Must go...........this thread is interesting!

It's a quarter past midnight over here and I planned to go to bed early, but ended up here.... I'm in the same time zone Bruyere is, GMT +1 that is, and today it has been 9 degrees Celsius, but the predictions are that it's gonna get warmer soon. That would be great!

It's 5:50 pm here, Eastern Standard Time. When the time changes next week, I will be staying the same as I am, although the counties around me who are on Central Time will be jumping an hour ahead.
Today we had a high of 58 degrees F, with overcast skies.

Just gone 9am Monday morning here, and a lovely day. It is about 23C here, heading for a top of 29C (mid 80's F). The sky is very smoky from the bushfires that are burning all over the state We operate on Australian Eastern Standard time, and change to DST on the upcoming weekend.

Australia has different time zones, then, ozzz? I think so. I'm sure of the time in Perth, where my very good friend lives, and I think it's the same time as Ren33 in Hong Kong from what I figure! In Perth it would be 7:15am Monday, so there must be different time zones in Australia! Also, next week, my time changes one hour back, so I must allow for a four hour difference ( not 4! It's TWELVE plus 4-or three depending on the time of year, therefore 15 or 16 hours ahead of me) between here and Perth.......but their time doesn't change, and I don't know about Hong Kong! OH..I do get confused! I do the mental math several times during a time change to make sure I'm right, and it takes forever for it to get ingrained in me again. Then when it does...it's time to set the clocks ahead! Good morning, anyway, from a day and a half behind!

lea, Australia is in 3 time zones. Perth is currently 2 hours behind Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart and Canberra. Adelaide and Darwin are an hour behind.
It gets rather confusing with DST- Tasmania usually changes a couple of weeks before the rest of the states, and Queensland does not use DST.
Just a small thing for those that may have not realised- you can set the time on your computer to adjust FT time to your local time. Go to 'My Home', scroll to 'Main Configuration', 'Display Preferences...' and click on 'Edit'. The third option is In reply to:
Current server time is: 10/20/02 06:33 PM
Choose your time offset in hours (..,-2,-1,0,1,2,..)
Simply type in the hours that you are in front/behind FT time and all your posts are stamped with YOUR current time and date..
I am currently FT time +15 hours.

Thank you for the "time"ly info, ozzz. I was going to mention the FT option, too. I, myself, just found that option and adjusted it last week and it made a bit more sense of where everyone is, according to ME!

Monday - 7-30 a.m GMT here. I'm always an early riser (5-30 a.m). Weather is looking grey, showers forecast. The leaves are turning brown. Winter's on it's way.

Morning all, it's 8 30 am in France, I normally see my Aussie friends online, and my North American night owls normally nestle into their perches for a few hours sleep, unless they are really not able to. I generally get American friends' e mail from Sunday afternoon and night this morning. Fantastic breathtaking sunrise this morning, just about veered off of the road.

OK! Morning, Heather! It's 11:35pm and I'm going to bed! Honest...going to sleep for a change! Have a good day! Hubby's already snoring! I'll check in in about 6 or 7 hours, as usual, but just quickly for the morning "check"! Everyone have a great day........or a great sleep! Night all!

It's lunchtime in Europe, and I can see my Aussie friends are online, as well as a few folks from the UK, the rare night owls from North America are on too.
If you'd told me that one day we'd all be communcating like this, I'd have scratched my head in amazement.

I must be one of the rare nightowls from North America , because here I still sit. I am going to have to drag myself off to bed soon. I had planned on being in bed 2 hours ago. I know exactly what you mean, Bruyere! It still amazes me that I can be in contact with people from all over the world, at all odd hours, just by sitting at my computer. I love it, but even a few years ago, I could have never imagined I would be doing it.

Not many people on line at the moment, so nobody playing any of the chains, so I am just going through some of the other forums. I am on Australian Central time which is 1/2 an hour behind the Eastern states, but will become 1/2 an hour ahead of Queensland after the weekend for the summer period.
It is interesting watching the time that something appears as being posted, as it could give me the perfect alibi for something I did eight hours ago.
Anyway I am at lunch at the moment and the time is 12:05 pm on Friday 10/25/2002.

Alan~You can adjust your "time" in your "profile", in the display preferences, I think. Then your posts will read "Your" time and it makes it easier to figure out, at least for you, how long ago you, or someone else, posted, in a familiar way! Doesn't help much with figuring if someone else is sleeping (or supposed to be sleeping) at that time. That's still up to you! For me, now, it's 7:45 pm, Thursday. We're behind you. On Sunday, we set it back an hour in these parts!
