We used to have a "Top Twenty" - I'm not sure what happened to it. Perhaps it went when the new version of the site came in?
Editors' Choice is still very much alive. Many quizzes are in that category and are accessible via that link.

Trishy, you only came onto the forum to brag about your quiz, didn't you? Anyway, a list of top 10 quizzes wouldn't be a great idea, because people that get into the top 10 are just lucky, and they're mostly American quizzes created by American people. There are many excellent quizzes on this website that don't even come close to this milestone.
I've got a better idea, what about a top 10 list from each country that quizmakers come from. If there was just a top 10 from all quizzes, then the good old US of A would be very well represented unfortunately, with 10 out of 10 at all times.

nmck, can I have some 'bragging' rights here? In reply to:

I was fortunate enough to have two quizzes in the top 10, and four in the top 40, all at the same time. All were Aussie-based topics. I do not consider that it was all due to luck; they are (in my humble opinion) just well-written and informative.
I also think that the idea of a top 10 (or 20, or 50) is a great idea! It might be difficult to do a top 10 from each author's country, however, as many authors do not put their nationality in their profile.

How about a top 10000 quiz excluding all the quizzes by editors (especifically those manning the sports counter)? Everyone bothers about the well written quizzes, how about incentives for the people who write (not intentionally) the worst quizzes? After all to have a Top 10 ,You need to have a fair share of losers. (you can't have a top 10 quiz without people like me who write idiotic quizzes)

Ozzzz, tie me kangaroo down boy! Just kidding. Just jealous I never hit it, and I'm from the USA. (once again this is sarcasm, in the event of real jealousy you will be notified.)
The top ten in terms of scoring has more to do with popularity of the subject matter, or.....how about the popularity of the quizmaker? I mean, now some of us have that notify feature for quizmakers whose work they enjoy. It can also have to do with the timely nature of a quiz, ie: Dracula and Halloween, though if the quiz weren't reasonably well written that would not be sufficient enough to keep it there.
The real fun is getting a non top ten subject quiz to soar and stay up in the ratings. That's my own challenge.
As to the bottom ten, I've got one of those!

Terry, could we get a "Top Rated Quizzes" entry in the hall of fame, maybe right beside the "Most Played Quizzes"?
