Thank You so much to each of you who participated in the NFL-Campbell's Chunky Soup Tackle Hunger promotion. An amazing five million free donation ckicks were made in less than a week to reach the goal of five million cans donated to food banks in NFL cities. That spirit of giving is what makes America great and should be a cause for reflection on this special holiday where we honor the many who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

To find out how many Chunky soup cans your NFL city received please click on either of my non-commercial links below. I think you will be very surprised by the NFL team which donated the most though free clicks.

Because I couldn't decide between my two teams to only help one, I went back and forth alternating days.
The Indianapolis Colts raised 191,315 cans and the San Francisco 49ers raised 106,162.

While it's wonderful that Campbells donated so many cans of soup, I don't think we should start patting ourselves on the back quite so fast. Because a major corporation donated some soup, hardly means that this "spirit of giving is what makes America great".

Donations of food to the local food pantries and soup kitchens in my area are down right now. They are having a hard time meeting the needs of the people who rely on these resources to put food on their tables and feed their children.

I'd like to remind people to make contributions of canned food and non perishible food items to their local food pantries, soup kitchens or food networks. It's always an important thing to do, but, at this time, it has a particular urgency.

9/11 affected overall charitable contributions, and our economy, adversely. There are many people out of work now and others who are having a very hard time managing. No one in America--or anywhere else--should be going hungry.

Not all problems can be solved by the click of a mouse. Sometimes you have to get out there and do some good. Please try to make a donation of food to your local food pantry or food network.

Bravo to Campbells, but each of us still has to do our own part in lending a helping hand.
