I wish to goodness they would catch the revolting Richard, I know it is only a television programme but that man makes my flesh creep.

We're so far behind in episodes here in Canada that I can't possibly be letting any cats out of any bags when I say that Richard is, at this moment, convincing Gail that they should be in business together. I don't get a chance to watch anymore with my new work hours, but yesterday I was home on a Monday and tuned in! Fie, fie Richard...you creep!

I didn't think it was shown outside the UK - I will now shut up so as not to put spoilers in here.

Who else gets Coronation Street and without spoilers, can you give some indication as to how far behind you are?

Perhaps one way of finding out is to name the youngest baby - just don't give the parents' names.

Today, Gail's son, David, just started his first day at secondary school. Janice and the fuzzy red-headed one from the factory just invaded Miss Hoity Toity's job at the upper class furniture store and embarassed the heck out of her. That's all I caught on Feb. 24 here in Canada. Shows how far behind we are! I guess I have to stop reading this thread! That's ok!

I think here in Australia we are the furthest (?) back.
Ken Barlow's daughter has just died and he now has her son living with him. Mike Baldwin has just found out he is the father and Diedrie has left Ken again!

So.... how many years behind is that?

Ohh, I just remembered, on Monday it was the 5000th. episode.

My goodness, Blinkybill! That makes Canada sound like it's going at warp speed! Must be about a year behind us! It's worth it, anyway. I also have the option of watching the VERY old episodes late at night, if I'm up! They're great, too! Love that Coronation Street!

You mean he gets worse? We may be months behind here in Canada, but I already hate Richard. He's murdered at least two people, robbed others of their life's savings, and just generally oozed creepiness in every episode that he is not killing or stealing. How can this get worse??? No.....don't tell me! I've never liked Gail, but surely she deserves better than this guy. Hell, even Brian was better than this guy....

At the stages you are at Richard is a little p u s s y c a t (sorry about the spaces but we have a filter on here and it wouldn't like that word!), you ain't seen nothing yet.

In Britain last night we had a double helping of Corrie (often do on a Monday evening), and there is more drama to come in the next few weeks.

Okay....don't tell me everything, but give me a hint: Is he Jez Quigley evil, or just sort of Terry Duckworth evil? Oh no....it's not another Alan Bradley type storyline, is it??? Now that was an 'edge of your seat' plot. Oooooo.....I can't wait. I might have a peek at the Corrie Web site.

Jez and Terry were real sweeties in comparison to this one, Alan Bradley doesn't come close in the evil stakes! This one is in a class of his own and from the rumours it is not over yet.

God, Magpie! This is my last day home sick! Whatever shall I do! It sounds as though I'd better rearrange my work schedule soon, or else I'm finally going to have to figure out how to use that VCR!

Don't fret, Lefois. Remember, you can always catch up on Sunday mornings, with the two-hour CS fest on CBC--that is, if you want to get up that early. I know I usually don't.

There's also the 'Coronation Street Visual Update' site: http://www.csvu.net/ . Be warned though....It is very tempting to look at the UK updates. I know I just did, and was SHOCKED by some horrible news that will come our way in a few months. I'm not peeking again.

Oh how Norris is enjoying himself! All those people having to grovel to him, Rita and Emily must be feeling pig-sick.

All you Canadians and Australians ought not be reading this thread, it is clearly marked SPOILERS.

Yes Callybub, from what I have read he will be back, even if it is only once. Actually I don't like that possible ending, the highly publicised one... splish, splash - that one, I hope they don't go for it.

Oooh, didn't thingymebob (no names) go for Gail last night, I almost felt sorry for her having that tongue-lashing.

You just keep on posting, fans! I will exhibit my usual self-control! That means viewing the monitor with my hand over my eyes, and peeking through the fingers, maybe, but that's ok! Sometimes I read the end of the book first, too!

But you really don't want to know who else he murders before he confesses to Gail? Right? Nor do you want to know who he framed for the murder of that person? Surely you don't want to know... nah, ofcourse you don't!

Peter is a bit of a stinker especially with this latest stroke but he pales into insignificance compared to Richard.

I just read that Richard tops the list of soap villains, JR is 2nd and Alan Bradley is only 7th. Who on earth compiles these lists?

Ooooh, so the foul Richard returns later this week and the whole saga will come to its conclusion. I see that the Corrie website has not put details of Wednesday or Friday's episodes up - obviously keeping us in suspense.

As for Peter, I just want to 'slap him upside the head' (to quote Purple Fan) and Tracy (Barlow that was), well I would love to wipe the nasty smile off her face too!

CANADIANS AND AUSTRALIANS STAY OUT! BIG TIME SPOILERS!!

I didn't want that ending! It will be Friday now until we know how many are dead and how many survive. Presumably the men will jump in after them and perhaps Tommy will come a cropper. Ooooh, exciting stuff.

At least Richard found a use for some duct tape!
