I have this name in my head. I know it is the name of a character in a (famous?) novel, but try as I might, I cannot remember what book it is. It is driving me crazy.

The name is 'Murgatroyd' (or something like that). I know it's vague. I think it belongs to a woman.

Please help.

"heavan's to Murgatroid" was what Snagglepuss, the cartoon character, always said. Had a quick google and the main thing that comes up in an Indie musician called Miss Murgatroid. Sorry, not much help.

Thanks everyone. I have never heard of the books you mention, so I'll have to keep thinking.
