Hmmmm....message did not self-destruct yet....will our Ethan Hunt accept the mission? I'll take on a bunch of challenges...may not complete them, but at least "give it the 'ole college try'." Now, will we see our 12th different winner in NFL? It's looking like there will be a season after all.

Time to update the long Spoonless streaks for Sypher. His ended in MLB at 42 weeks (weeks 2-27 of 2010 season and weeks 1-16 of 2011 season).

- for triviapaul it was his second-ever gold medal in any comp .. his first was earlier this year in the Australian Open (M).
- Eraserhead was the only defending titleholder in any of those 5 comps to finish on the podium.
- there were 13 runners in the French Open; which is a new record .. the previous record was a field of 11 back in 2009.
RECORD BOOK- 42 consecutive weeks without a wooden spoon by Sypher : weeks 2-27 of last year's MLB comp plus weeks 1-16 of this year's comp.
- this is the 8th longest spoon-less streak since tipping comps started at FT back in March 2000.
- the all-time record is a humungous 58 spoon-less weeks (and still counting) set by DanielPoulson in the FAPL comp up until the end
of last season .. it continues next month, at the start of the new season!

a spoonless streak in Nascar might not be the same as a spoonless streak in a "normal tipping comp" .. Nascar is not included in perfect picks for that reason (we've had a few over the years, and left them out); so I'm not sure a spoonless streak should be included either.
e.g. what are the odds are of picking 4/43 drivers, then excluding the 4th and only scoring for the first 3 across the line (aka as two bites at the cherry) vs. the odds of picking 8/8 in AFL or 15/15 in the NBA? I don't know the answer and, at first blush, it doesn't look like they're in the same ballpark. I'd say 15/15 is pretty tough...maybe 1 in 0.5 or 1M...ish. I'm not an accountant, but I am fairly good with numbers. It's up to you, but I still think 64 weeks is impressive in itself!

Looks like we goofed...iRB in 2003, and you note that in the iRB thread: in 2003, there were three players that went 10/10 three consecutive weeks...and I don't think any of those perfects are mentioned anywhere. Post #182330. position tips -------- --------

He's the only one with a perfect score after the first round of 4 games, collects a bonus point point for picking the result solo, and has already opened up a 2 point lead. Jonnowales did go 4/4 six consecutive though.
