The FunTrivia HoF has been updated for the above medals and records. - this year's Australian Open (M) was the 16th edition .. toocool4u became the first player to retain his title in this comp.
- the Australian Open (W) saw Lynfi win his first-ever medal. Welcome aboard!
- this year's World Cricket compo was also the 16th edition and, like the Australian Open saw Howie72 emulate the achievement of toocool4u, when he became the first player to retain his title.
- the World Cricket comp was terminated after 12 of 15 rounds as the remaining games were cancelled.
- the Six Nations comp returned after a hiatus of 11 years. Huw27 was the defending titleholder, as the winner of the 2009 edition. Howie72 won the 2008 comp.
- as was the case with World Cricket, this comp was also terminated, after 4 of 5 rounds, as the remaining rounds were postponed to a date to be fixed (probably October or November).
- Howie72 finished on the podium in four of the six comps.
- there are a number of comps, presently suspended, which may also meet the same fate and be terminated e.g. NBA and NHL. If the season does not restart, a medals ceremony will be held when the suspension becomes a cancellation.
- Daaanieeel won his second-ever medal .. his first was a gold medal in the 2018 AFL comp.

The FunTrivia HoF has been updated for the above medals and records. - our Canadian cousin, LeoDaVinci, won his first-ever gold medal in the NHL comp. His previous podium finish was bronze ten years ago, in the 2009-10 comp.
- he also won his first-ever gold medal in the FLC comp, in his first-ever podium finish.
- N-Bomb won gold in 4 of the 9 comps .. and he was defending titleholder in 6 of those 9 comps!
- but wait, there's more .. in the FAPL he's won 5 of the last 7 comps, in the FT-PL he's won 4 of the last 6 comps and, after 17 years of UEFA CL comps, he became the first-ever player to win the UEFA CL as defending titleholder!
- srini701 has finished on the podium in three of the last 4 NBA comps .. two of them were gold (and the other bronze).
- paper_aero finished on the podium in 5 of the 9 comps (same as N-Bomb) and Dizart was on the podium in 3 of the 9 (same as LeoDaVinci).
- the FLC comp will be archived after 14 seasons, unless someone volunteers to run it. I won't be running it as it requires far too much time .. 14 seasons was a good innings. Please note that, at 46 rounds, it's the longest comp in here and, if you do volunteer, you need to keep this in mind viz. putting together 46 rounds of tipping threads with 12 games = 552 lines of fixtures, plus x46 results posts.

RECORD BOOK- spoonless : 115* wks NFL : Mustang collected a spoon in week 4 of the 2014 comp .. and none since! This is an all-time
record for any comp both in number of rounds (115) and time lapsed (four weeks short of seven years!! still running.
The FunTrivia HoF has been updated for the above medals and records. - FT Triple Crown : Horse Racing : many have tried, since 2003, and all have failed .. srini701 won the Grand National and the
Kentucky Derby. When he wins the Melbourne Cup in November, he will be the first to win the Triple Crown! - wwe84 was the only defending titleholder, in any comp, to retain his title, when he won the Masters. In fact, this year's win was
a three-peat (and he's now won four of the last five comps). - three-peat this was the 9th three-peat over the last 20 years of tipping comps (three of those eight are by N-Bomb, plus dg-dave,

The FunTrivia HoF has been updated for the above medals and records. - Llynfi won his first-ever gold medal! This was his 3rd podium finish in any comp.
- only two of the 15 defending titleholders won their comp : Dizart and gtho4.
- Dizart and Howie72 finished on the podium in six of the 15 comps (three were gold medals, for both of them).
- next best with five podium finishes (one gold) was srini701.

All the tennis Grand Slams were held as were the 3 major derbies. As the year ends with the new Corona variant Omicron spreading fast, here's hoping 2022 will not be affected much and that we have heard the last of this pandemic. *** After a stupendous 7 consecutive years at the top of the pile, N-Bomb DID NOT finish first in 2021 This has to be our biggest news here. srini701 takes top spot for the first time in more than a decade! The last time srini701 was top in our year-end standings, Rafael Nadal was winning three slams a year and New Orleans Saints was winning their first ever Superbowl! *** Dizart also had a very good year, winning 5 gold and 9 medals in all. The top 4 of our medallists won 43 of the total 93 medals given out in 2021! *** We added only 1 new medallist in 2021 among the 16 who won medals. andymuenz makes his debut with a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics, while 2020's newcomer Llynfi found himself on the podium 3 more times in 2021. list updated December 24, 2021***Last year I had written " N-Bomb is set to replace gtho4 at the top for the first time since FT tipping comps were launched." But the old warhorse has managed to stave off the Kiwi for one more year! No changes in our top 5 from 2020 though paper_aero now moves into sixth place, and Howie72 now has the second highest number of medals overall. ***Among active players in our comps, dg_dave has finished out of the standings for a second consecutive year, while toocool4u failed to win anything in 2021 after finishing on podium in 2020. yoyoandcigs and 22crows make a return to the medal winners list after a short break. Here's hoping more winners make a return in 2022  **** The 16 people finishing on podiums in 2021 have been listed in bold in the above table.

- Fifiona81 was the only winner as the defending titleholder. Her three-peat is now a four-peat, the second-ever at FT. The first four-peat was in 2002-03-04-05 by gtho4 in the AFL comp. In fact she has won 6 of the last 7 F1GP comps .. and will surely continue this streak with the first-ever five-peat in 2022.
- his win in the Melbourne Cup saw srini701 became the first-ever winner of the FT Triple Crown. Dozens and dozens have tried over the last 18 years, since the first FT horse race in 2003, but all failed. The previous best effort was by 22crows in 2014, with wins in the first two legs, the Grand National and the Kentucky Derby.
- Fifiona81 and Dizart were the only multiple-gold medallists. They each won two gold.
- gtho4 finished on the podium in five of the 11 comps, followed by Howie72, LeoDaVinci and N-Bomb with four each.
