I know it is not quite there yet but I am bored and therefore inspired (everyone knows these go together). It is new years eve in my time zone and because I won't be around tomorrow night (working) it is good enough for me!
Happy new year, may you have many more,
and swear off the drink because your head's sore.
Happy new year and plan to lose weight,
but on new years day eat cake by the plate.
Happy new year, a kiss at midnight,
until quarter past when you have a big fight.
Happy new year, with old friends get in touch,
but then realise you never liked them that much.
Happy new year, smoke cigarettes no more,
then light up a butt that you find on the floor.
Happy new year, start to learn a new language,
then find that your mouth is more use 'round a sandwich.
Happy new year, spend more time with your kin,
after three hours of Pokemon, you reach for the Gin.
Happy new year, be kind to the old,
'till your mother in law says your house smells like mould.
Happy new year, hold loved ones more dear,
and on January second say "oh sod it! Next year!!!!"
Happy new year all!!!

Happy New Year to everyone! Great poem - rather true actually! We all start off with such good intentions at the beginning of a new year. It is amazing how hard it is to keep up with them

Hope all you Aussie friends had a great evening! We are still waiting for 2003 to come to us . The fireworks were beautiful over Sidney Harbor -- CNN showed them to us this morning. Geez, I still have over 12 hours to wait! Happy New Year all, Safe driving!

Fourteen and a half hours to go here! The weather, at least, is keeping to it's usual patterns...35cm of snow yesterday! I'll be home at midnight, maybe even awake! Happy New Year to all my FT friends I've made this past year! May 2003 be healthy, prosperous and peaceful for you all! ~Lea

We're still about four and a half hours away. I'm just about to have a drink and get all fixed up for a party and some club-hopping. I hope everyone had, is having, or will have a great night! It's freezing rain here in Montreal, where I am staying, so cross your fingers that I will be able to get a cab to take us downtown.

2 1/2 hours to go here! We will be rockin in the new year with kiddos this year. My 9 year old twin nieces are spending the night with us. The are all ready to ring in the New Year with Pepsi, Doritos and salsa! Wild party!! For me anyway, it sounds like a fun evening. They are a blast.

Excuse my little poem I was full of the spirit of new year and also full of the spirit of the Irish (also known as Alcohol!!!). I only mention it because someone told me my little poem was silly.

There was nothing at all silly about it. I really enjoyed it!
