My given subject today was television, I actually 'knew' 2 answers but scored 10. I am sure that some days I have had questions which I have had before, not that it helps me to get them correct the second time around. I quite enjoy the 'mix', at least there is a vague chance of me knowing a few answers. Just as well it is just for fun, I am sure that I am not the only one who can't bear to miss a game regardless of the subject matter.

I drew General today, and was pleasantly surprised at how much easier it was (compared to the last 5 or 6). Four out of the five of the days top scores come from 'my' division. Everyone is different, and has different likes/dislikes- I know nothing about Britney Spears or Eminem- I bet I cop music tomorrow

I had a question today that referenced another question. It was impossible to answer since we couldn't see the other question. I thought questions that referenced other questions weren't allowed.

I think it was geography, but that's about all I remember. I didn't even read the answers.

Terry has all sorts of filters in place to stop this. Hopefully he can track the question down, and add a bit more code. Right, boss?

Not to mention "Sweet Valley Kids", "Sweet Valley Twins" and the rest of the bunch.

Simple solution to much of the above: why not change the "literature" category to "stuff that has appeared in bound volumes"?

I hate to admit it, but I actually knew the Sweet Valley High answer because 2 million years ago when I was a pre-teen, I read the books when the series first came out. I didn't know it was still around. Those girls can't possibly still be in high school!

No Iddsfu, as far as I can tell they're in 3rd grade, 6th grade, high school and college all at the same time!

I took a quiz on "Literature" today, which appeared to have about as much do with literature as mouse pads had to do with the Middle Ages. If I am not mistaken, at least 16 of the questions were about sci-fi, gothic/horror nonsense, and Tolkien fantasy silliness.
I realize people read this stuff and its popularity is undeniable among a certain demographic, but when did this sort of thing become "literature"?
Hate to tell you, but literature, by definition, is anything that is written down. Now, you might ask when did this become good literature...
And I do have to pause a moment to defend Tolkien, even though I don't care for him myself. I have to think there must be something great about his literature, since it has been consistently, unvaringly popular over many decades.
It is true, however, that it would be nice to encourage a greater variety of reading among modern students...

Does everyone get a different quiz? Does not everyone get the same daily quiz every day? I'd love it if someday I got a literature or religion quiz mix....I always get either TV (which I know little about) or FunTrivia mix.

I am not a bad loser(honestly!). However when , in the course of a week I have: "Literature",which consists mainly of questions about trashy teen novels; Music , which really did not contain more than 3 questions I could fathom the meaning of (let alone know the answer) and FT Mix, which has questions like this : Quote:
Roman History, Part III (Roman History) by scipio23 ]
What year was he given this title?
27 B.C. 44 B.C. 23 B.C. 5 B.C.
I really do consider calling it a day. It is a wonderful idea. I just wish there were a few questions I could even start to understand.

Jeesey Creesey-I keep getting Children, which I know almost nothing about, unless they are children of the 50's and 60's! What's that about?
I have to say that you´re lucky. I keep getting questions about American history! And believe me, that´s not so easy if you´re a Swede! LIke today, I got the question "These are all 19th century events, but which one happened first?" and there was 3 options I hadn´t even heard about...

The majority of questions seem to be American biased but then I would assume that the majority of FT members and quiz makers are American so that's understandable. And if I have to guess the answers to questions on American tv prgrammes or historical events I've never even heard of, so be it. I actually manage to guess my way to around 10 most days and feel ridiculously pleased with myself. I did have serious trouble with; 'Who succeeded him as president?' He? He, who? And this week there was; 'What is the capitol of the answer to question 1?' And then there are the days when I actually know a few answers (ok, so not many days like that!) and aol won't cooperate, taking forever to submit the answers and I end up with a ludicrous time! 'Mixed' today. Please don't let there be any more of Bruyere's french questions, I'm useless at languages!

Well yeah, but the creepy thing is that I always get those questions! There hasn´t been one single time when I´ve played the daily quiz, that hadn´t been about American history!
