I'd say it's a 50/50 split on who's responsible. Yes, these people were idiots for doing the stunt in the first place. But, the radio station shouldn't have put them up to it. When I was in radio, we were forbidden from enticing our listeners to do dangerous things for prizes. My boss, the stations owner, didn' want the liability or a possiblilty of a lawsuit. Radio stations have been held accountable for such things in the past. Just last year, two DJ's in New York were fired for enticing a couple to have sex in a Catholic Church. I think the DJ's were just as responsible as the people.
