Im not entirely sure what is new yet, but I have upgraded the forums. This apparantly fixes a bunch of bugs and makes them much faster too.

Well, I don't like the GREEEN which screams at you for new posts - hard to read.

But it does seem faster!

Green? Which theme are you using?
If you use the default one, "theblues", it looks much the same as before.

Oh my, if you want a REAL trip, go to my home/display settings and choose "wild" as your display type!

Yeah, wild is just that. I think I'll stick with Infopop - no wacky colours for me!

All moderators seem to know, wouldn't it have been more polite to PM 'people' and let them know what you've just done.

What's the benefit?

Well all I gotta say is Egad! I have desert, and it is different shades of brown now than it was before. I get the green print when I move my cursor over the row headings: Main Index, Search, Login, etc. It also appears that today's threads are all green! ick.

Russ - we didn't know anymore than you did. And what good would PMing people do? They wouldn't be able to retrieve them as the upgrade happened.

Hey, I don't want to be a parade-rainer-on-erer or anything ( ), but does it matter at all that the threads that used to be anchored at the top of each section (eg the scrapbook in The Commons) aren't automatically at the top of the list any more??

Good thought. I noticed that, too. I have switched to InfoPop now, and even the first few threads are a darker gray than the rest of the threads.

I've found that if you change the date setting to "from all dates", the scrapbook and the like are "pinned" at the top of the forums. The only reason I didn't see it before is because I usually have my date setting on "active in the last 2 days", and it doesn't come up then.

It's not a big thing, just a thing, really....

PM people? To say what? That we updated the forums with a less buggy version? I'd much rather post one message here than send 6000 messages!

Terry - now that you've gotten rid of the highlighting... Maybe I'm dense, but how can we tell which threads have new posts besides looking at the time each had their last post?

I love the feature on the main index showing who has the last post in each forum and what thread it is in. I have wished for that for a long time. It will save alot of time for me. Thanks for the upgrade!

I note that the name on the left side no longer shows the year that someone registered.

I like the changes I think? It will take a few days to get use to them. Some day I will come in here and I will be in heaven as you will have changed everything to Purple just for me! LOL LOL!
Nice job! PF
P.S
Any chance we might get to see your smiling face in the new FT scrapbook? Which I must say is excellent! Millions are curious I am sure!

I think we would all like to see what the king of the jungle looks like under that mane and all that fur.

PF! Terry's FACE is excellent? Or the scrapbook is excellent? What have you been up to, PurpleFan!

I'm still discovering what's new here. Seems relatively the same...enough so I don't feel like a stranger! Thanks, I think.

Before the server was upgraded we always knew the name of the last poster on the most recent thread, so now we have a combination of both.

It will only take a couple of days to get used to it and you won't remember what it was like in the first place.
Thanks Terry

Oops - is there a link back to the FunTrivia Page?

Couple things. I notice that you can see locations of people again. It does seem to be a little faster loading long threads. Is there any other differences or advantages this version has?

Drink 6 for me....

This version of Infopop allows the date format to be change from 1/15/03 12:28am to Wed Jan 15 2003 12:28 AM. It gives this site an "international flavour". However, having done that, there is no room to show the full date a member reg'd in the box on the left, so the system truncates the date (and I can't find a toggle to reduce the font size). To see the date a member reg'd you need to click on their name and view their profile. If enough members find it a nuisance, the deafult date format 1/15/03 may be reinstaed.
