A friend and I were looking for the name of a comedy film that had two guys in a cow outfit, and a lot of sight gags in it..
It had a telephone that was enormous with an interrogation scene...the telephone was actually enormous instead of being in perspective...
It was along the lines of the Top Gun type stuff, with all the tricks used in films but used for gags.
Akin to Mel Brooks but not Mel.
Help Please ! It's bothering us!
It came out in the seventies I think...probably late or else early eighties.

That would be "Top Secret!" starring Val Kilmer and brought to you by Abrahams, Zucker and Zucker who did "Airplane" Top Secret!

It's a Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker special; you can purchase it through Blockbuster Video as I did. Among other classic moments are the dream scene (Val Kilmer is being beaten by the Germans, falls unconscious, has the old "unprepared for school" nightmare, and gratefully reawakens to find himself still being beaten by the Krauts); several almost indescribable sight and sound/ backwards and forwards gags in a Swedish bookstore; a German waiter who in faux-German (actually Yiddish) greets his customers with "Gey kocken offen yam" (a suggestion that they perform an excretory function on the ocean), and more gags on French words, phrases and names than the human mind can comprehend.

(Asked how he came to be named "Nick", the Kilmer character muses and says, "my father thought of it while he was shaving.")

Well it came up in a discussion and confessional session of liking corny movies...I love them...but supposedly that's surprising?
I mean, I've watched Police Academy and its children a few times each...and so I was thinking of Top Gun, with Priscilla's greatest role in my opinion...and then that one came to mind.

Ok guys, here's another one...what's the Airplane type spoof with a bus called Cyclops that has a plane crashing into the piano bar? The Big Bus?
I cannot remember that one either.

Anyone want a real side splitting laugh get that last one though...
Thanks guys..
Just thinking about that phone one was making me laugh.
On par with Peter Sellers and the dentist scene with Lam in the Pink Panther movie?

Ah la la, Austin Powers be gone, you'll never really manage to equal the good old days.

The Big Bus is correct. And the Top Gun movies you keep mentioning are the Hot Shots! and Hot Shots Part Deux! movies.

Or was it The Naked Gun with Leslie Nielsen? (Instead of Hot Shots)
