Shane Warne has announced he'll quit one day matches after the World Cup in a bid to prolong his test career. Is everybody devastated?

That's what I was thinking! The Aussies will always produce top quality bowlers, so they wouldn't miss him really. Would they?

I certainly won't. I brought it up in another topic but most of the players are so arrogant I just hop, when someone like him goes, that they'll have a 'nice' sort of bloke to replace him. Hogg doesn't seem too bad ... yet. Give him time. Just as long as they don't McGill in.

I know he's not top of your Christmas card list Gill, but I for one will miss his jolly rotund stride as he steps up to wipe out another England batting collapse.

?

Nah............ you're right!

I'm not a Warne fan but I admire the blokes skill. How many spinners around the world get left for the final 6 overs in a one day game?

yeah, I'll probably miss not seeing him there for about 2 seconds. He's been in the yellow and green for so long.

Didn't Hogg have a blinder the other night Copago. he could be the next best thing!

Has anyone yet worked out how Warne is going to prolong his career by not playing One day internationals but is coming the England to play county and 1 day cricket?

Maybe Warne's got to learn about retiring from the masters of that game - Wasim Akram and Javagal Srinath - God alone knows how many they have retired, come out of it, retired again...
Fosse - maybe it's got to do with English weather.

Know what you mean Ace - if he plays over 15/20 days in England he'll have an extended season!.

The new breed of One Day cricketers are doing very well. Maybe Warny is making way for them, maybe he couldnt be bothered any more.

It seems that they get rid of you from the one day team once you hit a used by date of about 34 anhows... Healy, Waugh(s), Taylor etc
