Not to worry, Lefois. If he runs at all, he'll run as a Democrat, and sadly that party seems to be going the way of the dinosaurs.

Yikes!!!!!!!!

Hey may win cause there is alot of the so called "trailer park trash" round these parts. What a frightful thought.

------

"Next time on the Senator Springer Show we'll have democratic senators that are making moves on the republican senators prostitutes while all the senators wives confess that they have been cheating on their husbands with their states governors!!!"
-----

That should get his ratings back up.......

I can see it now. George Bush is on the show with an "Explosive Confession". Saddam is backstage in the soundproof booth not knowing why he's been brought on the show (I can never work out how anyone can be expecting anything but bad news when they come on that show and don't know why they're there). The Title?

"I'm Taking Your Country Away From You And There's Nothing You Can Do To Stop Me"

I'd like to see Steve holding Saddam back while he's wielding a rifle in one hand popping off random shots into the air. That'd be great. Meanwhile the crowd would be chanting "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry..." Then the explosive backlash confession: That Saddam has been cheating on W behind his back with none other than...

Tony Blair.
"He's a better warmonger than you'll ever be", says Saddam. Now Steve has to hold W back while he goes in for the kill.

It'd be a ratings bonanza!

Out comes Osama from backstage. "This is how I find out that you have 2 lovers besides me Saddam? I thought I was your one and only? How could you do this to me?"...starts to whimper.

Saddam replies.... "You just can't do it for me anymore babe, I need to feel loved and you haven't been around."

"Oh that's it!!!" Osama picks up a chair and goes after Saddam.

Then comes Dubya's mom from the audience and starts smack'in everyone upside the head.

In the background you hear an ambulance coming to pick up the Vice, he had another heart attack cause he thought he was Dubya's one and only....

Surely Bill Clinton would play a role in all of this?

Bill is out celebrating his new achievement of being VH1's Greatest Rock 'n' Roll moment on TV and is to busy "playing the field" to worry about the SSS which he should have been on years ago......

It seems to me that Jerry Springer, before his "celebrity" days, was actually the Mayor of some large city. Cleveland? I'm not sure, but will do some googling.

Aha. He was Mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio, one of the youngest mayors in the country. Here is a little background on him. Jerry Springer
He would not be the only celebrity to have turned to politics.

Springer won't be the first second class entertainer to enter major politics - remember Sonny Bono and Ronald Reagan?

And Clint Eastwood, and that wrestler (so well known that I can't even remember his name!) up in Minnesota.

So, would Springer get into it wholeheartedly? Or is this just for publicity for a program losing its audience?

Jesse "The Body" Ventura and I think it might be a serious run. If a wrestler can do it with no political background why can't a talk show host?

Question is now, what about Oprah?

I'd vote for Oprah for President in a NY minute - but why should she give up a good paying job for a measly, paltry, $400,000/year plus the use of a house and a plane?

Oprah would send her secretary of state, Dr. Phil, to straighten out Saddam.

At least with Oprah, Saddam would get a free makeover and get his moustache trimmed. If Saddam were ever to see a taping of Jerry Springer, he would probably feel sorry for us Americans - realizing that the guests on Jerry's show were worse than any biological weapon he could dream up!

Wow! Is this typical spending for people seeking public office? If this is the case many able people won't have the chance of serving their country in this way due to economics. Money surely won't necessarily buy the best (wo)man for the job?

What would he spend that money on, sending all the electorate a gift? Seriously, where does the money go?

Jerry could liven up the Senate meetings, he could bring on the food fights and some ladies who take a bath in mud on the stage

Sue, that's fairly typical spending for a senatorial campaign--in fact some run much, much higher than that. We also have a new breed of mega wealthy politicians who plow huge sums from their own pockets into their political campaigns (I think that one of the senators from New Jersey spent over $30 million of his own money to get himself elected). Where does this money go? Mostly into TV ads.

Springer starts out with an advantage--he already has name recognition. So his campaign could be relatively cheap.

Wasn't Jerry Springer a politician before?
