There's this oldies rock kind of song that goes "Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie -- Louie, Louie, Louie, Lou-aahh...Louie, Louie you're gonna (something)".

Ok, pretty bad at remember the lyrics. Also, I'm not even sure if a man or woman sings it although I'm pretty sure it was a woman who kind of sounds like Janis Joplin. Does anybody know???

The only one I know is Louie Louie by The Kingsmen. This was reportedly a very controversial song. Don't know if this is the one that you are thinking of, I can't remember the lyrics either.

I know that song too, but that's definitely not the one I'm talking about. By the way, why was the Kingsmen's song so controversial?

Hey! I already found the song I was looking for after much searching. It's called "Brother Louie" and it's by a group called "Stories". If you haven't heard it yet, try to download it...it's really a great song! Here are the lyrics:

She was black as the night
Louie was whiter than white
Danger, danger when you taste brown sugar
Louie fell in love overnight.

Nothing bad, it was good
Louie had the best girl he could
When he took her home to meet his mama and papa
Louie knew just where he stood.

Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie
Louie, Louie, Louie, Lou-I
Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie
Louie, Louie you're gonna cry.

There he stood in the night
Knowing what's wrong from what's right
He took her home to meet his mama and papa
Man he had a terrible fight

Louie nearly caused a scene
Wishin' it was a dream
Ain't no diff'rence if you're black or white
Brothers you know what I mean.

Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie
Louie, Louie, Louie, Lou-I-I
Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie
Louie, Louie you're gonna cry-y.

Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie
Louie, Louie, Louie, Lou-I
Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie
Louie, Louie you're gonna cry.

Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie
Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie, Lou-I
Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie
Louie, Louie you're gonna cry.

Louie, Louie, Louie, Louie
Louie, Louie, Louie, Lou-I.

It was released by 'The Stories' in 1973, but I think the original was by Hot Chocolate. Hot Chocolate's version made more sense, but for basic gettin' down, you can't go past The Stories' version.

It was reportedly contraversial because of the lyrics. According to louielouie.net the FBI spent a long time trying to decipher them and probably with no results. They were sure there obsene words in them or that there was another meaning to them. Complete waste of time if you ask me!
