February 2nd and it's Groundhog Day.
As a celebration I watched the film.
For anyone who does not know what this is...
On February 2nd the groundhog peeks his head out of his hole, if he sees his shadow there is six more weeks of winter, if he doesn't there is a month and a half.

I am just so excited that spring is on it's way.

They showed this film (which I love by the way) here last night. I think that we have an abundance of these Groundhogs because our weather is so bad all year round that the six week thing does not compute.

It is so cold that Punxsutawney Phil may not even want to poke his nose out of the burrow this year.

Well if we are suppose to have six more weeks of winter here I can live with that! It has been mild and for the most part not a bad one!
Flowers are blooming and it's been pleasant!
So Happy Groundhogs Day to all! PF

The film is life sometimes.

Got it on film, and 1201 , don't you think it's great.

I was born on this day many moons ago, so my family has always sent me outside to check for my shadow. Unfortunately, I'll be at work early this morning so that means six more weeks of horrible, horrible, messy winter. Sorry!!

Happy Birthday, DieHard! Sorry you have to spend your birthday working, but I hope you have a very pleasant day none-the-less.
Don't worry about not seeing your shadow--it's when you don't cast a reflection in the mirror that you're really in trouble. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We have been having such a miserable cold winter that I'm hoping for an early Spring. I'm willing to bribe all the groundhogs, or hold lights over their heads--anything. I'm ready for Winter to end right now.

I don't believe we have groundhogs up here! There are some marmots around Vancouver, though! I remember once spending all day at a family outing all by myself trying to coax a groundhog to eat peanuts out of my hand. I'll sneak in a Happy Birthday to DieHard, too (no birthday threads, ya know!), and maybe I'll start depending on him, too, for the Groundhog Day forecast!

It is also 36 years to the day that I passed my driving test.

Punxetawny Phil has predicted six moe weeks of winter.

I was wondering if anyone would notice that Lady Caitriona.

Happy Birthday DieHard.

I really, REALLY hate winter, so let's hope that the Hammonton groundhog doesn't want anymore winter either.

First Happy Birthday Diehard (might be a bit late but the sentiments are there) Here in Leicester UK the groundhog would have been a little bemused - this morning cold, damp and raining, this afternoon bright sunshine but very cold, tonight -snowing! So I suppose it depends when he looks out !

Our groundhog will need plenty of suntan cream, and he would have to look in the air for his shadow, as when it touched the ground it would have leapt up, only a mere 39C today though.
