My goodness, Bruyere!! That's quite a list of broken bones! I have never broken a bone, either. I sprained my wrist once when I was roller skating. I was skating just peachy until I lost my balance and fell flat on my back side. It was the most embarrassing thing...fortunately no one saw me! I was quite stubborn about wearing the cast and now my wrist aches whenever the weather isn't sunny and warm--I should really move to Miami.

I have been very lucky really. I have been in several quite serious incidents and accidents and all that has ever happened to me is that I have broken my nose. Having said that I have broken it so many times I have lost count of the number of times it has happened. Lets see now, I have broken my nose by:
hitting it on a drinking fountain aged seven or eight, the first time; falling on it in the playground the same year; walking into a (glass) door, didn’t see it; being hit in the face by the ball whilst playing mixed field hockey, destroying my macho credibility with the girls when I bawled my eyes out; wiggling it whilst explaining to cute girl how I broke it; not by falling off a motorbike but by pulling my helmet off in a dazed state afterwards; being pummelled by several young gentlemen whilst playing Rugby (Union), three times I think; being pummelled by several young thugs late one night in Southampton whilst relieving me of several quid; having a colleague drop a machine gun on my face; falling whilst rock climbing, I pendulumed in to a hard rock-face with my soft nose; doing the "wibble" sketch from ‘BlackAdder’; walking in to a wooden door, no excuses this time; wiggling in whilst explaining to a very un-cute male physician how it broke; and in one other way much to intimate to commit to print.
Curiously, I do still have a decent-ish, if somewhat wonky nose.

I've broken my nose three times. Thankfully it doesn't really show, just a rather cute little bump. My doc says it's because I broke it in the same place all three times.

ouch! Is he okay, John? Is it just a normal break that will heal pretty quickly or much nastier? More importantly, did they win the game?

owwyzowwy, John: That sounds serious! Hope he's ok! What a good daddy you are! My son has his nose broken at a hockey game! He wasn't playing, just a spectator rooting for the wrong team and cornered in a washroom!

Lefois, is this why violent crimes are so low in Canada? Because they get it out of their systems with hockey?
I live in fear some days of my son getting in to scrapes. Watching the judo competitions, I just cringe...you go to such an effort protecting that little head, only to let him on a tatami to get it squeezed by some brute! Hey, the dads were more scared than the mothers though...

I remember broking my ankle 2 years and a half ago. It was summer and I was swimming in the pool at home. We have a pool at home, and I like it. I was walking on the edge of the pool, you know, it is about 2 meters high. I often do that kind of thing, but I usually never fall. However I fell that day and broke my ankle.
(Forgive my difficulty to write everything in detail, english is not my home language you know...)

Ups and downs of the game Jillian, Hat trick last week, hospital this week, hopefully he'll be allowed home tomorrow (Tuesday) but it's a six to eight weeks in plaster and a possible operation if it doesn't mend on it's own properly) Still looking on the bright side he can put into practice some of the skills he's learnt on his Sports Science Degree Course and just think of all that sympathy when he goes into the pub on his crutches (His Sunday League Team is based at the Local Pub.) The match was abandoned due to the length of time it took the ambulance to arrive (Well he was occupying the Penalty Spot at the time!)
PS - Sue told me you were having computer problems, if your fully back on line again, drop me a mail.

Geez a baseball bat on the eye? Must have been painful... Anyway, any kind of bones you break is painful, and such thing like a swing of a baseball bat on the eye must be too...

I've never had a broken bone, but I did come close on two ocassions. Once when I was a kid sitting under the shopping cart I got my finger run over by the cart wheel, that rated a trip to the emergency room, but it wasn't broken. The other time I got my finger slammed in a locker door as someone was closing it, that rated an unplanned trip to the floor and a gawking crowd of third graders, but still no broken bone.

Luckily I have'nt broken anything apart from a tooth when I was about 13. Trying to climb up a slide in the rain, got halfway up and thought that if I let go I'll just slide back down! WRONG!! Fell flat on my face, ran to the nearest chemist (not sure what they'd do!!) with blood pouring out my mouth! This is a stunt I would not recommend anybody else do!
Copago, I can sympathise with you completely! My hubby has had an accident in almost every single job he's had! At the moment he is off work due to a collapsed arch in his foot!
He has managed to cut his finger off, get electrocuted, break his wrist countless times, broken nose (mainly fighting as a teen!), put his back out playing rugby, hairline fractures all over the place and so many other things I just can't remember!! We thought about him getting a safe job like in an office but decided that he would only manage to drop a computer on himself or something equally as stupid!!

Wow, Lee from BB? That's really cool. Luckily, I've never had a broken bone... But now that I wrote that and jinxed myself don't be surprised if I end up in a hospital tomorrow! lol

I fractured my big toe on my left foot playing soccer when I kicked a goal post. Pretty silly huh ? Even sillier when you consider I did it on purpose, and no I am not going to explain the circumstances !

Ankle, jumping down the stairs.
Collarbone, as a kid, because I thought it would be fun to tie a rope to the back of my friend's bike, hold onto it, and have him pull me very quickly down a steep hill while I was on rollerskates.

Never broke anything...yet...but have cracked my ribs (carrying something heavy by myself) and my collarbone (fell down in the woods). Sprained & pulled a lower back muscle several times- so bad i had to use a cane a couple times. I think my pride hurt as much as my back then!

I haven't broken any, yet! I've always wanted too, but I've failed in breaking any bones!

Isn't that strange? When I was a kid I wanted to have something broken too, every time I'd bump against something I was certain something was broken and would almost demand that I be taken for plaster .. .Mum would just throw a bandage on whatever part was most certainly "broken" and that would usually shut me up.

I almost panicked when I saw this thread up again and Copago being the last poster, I thought poor Jack had taken another tumble!
I always wanted to have an illness, nothing bad you understand, just something which would keep me off from school for a few days. Apart from the very rare day, all I can remember getting was a dose of Asian 'flu when I was in primary school. A broken bone would have been ideal.

Lucky for me I've never broken a bone. I came close to breaking my little toe a couple of years ago. I kicked a very large rock without any shoes on, my toe was bleeding badly and hurt for about a week but, nothing was broken.************ How come everything tastes like chicken, except chicken
