While this season is best remembered for the double-winning achievements of Tottenham Hotspur, League debutantes Peterborough United established a new Football League record when they scored 134 goals in Division Four. The previous record of 128 goals in a season was held jointly by Aston Villa (Division One, 1930-31) and Bradford City (Division Three (N), 1928-29).
