Who is the only former Blackburn Rovers player to captain Australia in a World Cup qualifier that was actually born in South Africa?

(my uncle gave me this one)

He's not there George. My uncle says it was in the 1960s and remembers it clearly also.

John Roberts played in the World Cup qualifier on 21st November 1965. Before moving to Australia he played for Northampton Town, Bradford City, Southend United, Chesterfield, and Blackburn Rovers. However, the captain for that game was Les Scheinflug, according to the rsssf.com webpage above.

The only Aussies who've played for Blackburn Rovers over the last 4 decades are, according to Australians Overseas, these four: John Roberts, John Filan, Frank Talia and, of course, Robbie Slater ... Filan and Slater played for the Socceroos in the 90s, but Talia didn't play at international level.

I have Matt Woods written down here. My uncle saw him play for Blackburn in the 60s, but couldn't be specific. He was a centre-half also.
He played in the 1960 FA Cup final, but I can't find much more on him yet.

This looks like him, and he did come to Australia:

Central defender. Emigrated to Australia from Rovers. Returned to play for Luton and Stockport, where he was manager. Lives in Heald Green in Manchester. Used to work in the haulage business but has now retired. Where are they now?

The Australian Soccer Federation joined FIFA in 1963 and, according to this site the worldgame.com, our first international (recognised) was in in 1965. That site lists every player who's worn the green and gold since then, and Matt Wood isn't listed. He must've played for Australia in an (unrecognised) international game.

I was just coming to post that link! He has a ton of these questions, but doesn't know what a computer is, so I'll get more tonight.
