Actually the current darts world champion is Dutch. I wonder whether I can trace any Dutch ancestry.

By the way, didn't we actually win the recent rugby?

With the darts, it's a matter of which championship you follow. Dutchman Ray Barneveld is the champion in one, and Canadian John Part in the other.
I got the feeling that the first team just didn't want to play last night, and it showed.

it's ok SG. You're a boss here, you can type 'Bloody Aussies' and get away with it

hehe. Who would of thought the boys would beat England though. I confess the English team seemed rather arrogant in their approach in all that swapping the whole team at half time stuff. It makes the win a bit sweater for the Aussies.

Always good to see a win for the boys (and girls) downunder!

But what's the deal with that ex-cricket player Shame Warne?

cheers

Allow me Jillian - much too Fat (hence the slimming pills) and much too arrogant (even for an Aussie!) - pity such a cricketing talent was put into that body and brain!

Hehe, Fosse beat me to it! Can you believe that he took a prescription tablet that his Mum gave him? If he doesn't get suspended for drugs he should get life for stupidity!

Back to the soccer, was it a really bad mistake to change the team at half time? Did that lead to further misery for Sven and the players? What are the tabloids saying?

I heard a funny line on the radio about changing the team at half time- apparently we beat TWO English teams in the same game

Nice Oz. Put it down to 'stupidity' on the part of the poms management.

As for Warney.... well, what a goose. Got busted taking slimming tablets and blamed his mum. Nice work Shane. I'd reckon he's used most of his brain cells for the purpose of cricket - or the peroxide has finally seeped into the blood stream, who knows. But I do know he wont be back in South Africa this summer.

Well, it was 2-0 at half-time and 3-1 at the end. So you beat the first XI fair and square, but drew with the reserves.

This is for real right? I don't follow round ball football at all so reading this is the first I heard about it. I thought we were supposed to have a good football team?

Tielhard, if you follow the oval ball game it gets worse. Australian National Rugby League premiers, the Sydney City Roosters beat British premiers, St Helens by 38-0...

I know I mentioned this above, but I thought it was worth bringing up again. The last time England and Australia played rugby (in November), England won. Only by a point, but they won. By the by, they also beat South Africa and New Zealand.

Lest we think this was an unimportant match, the last time England and Australia met in the rugby world cup, England won. Admittedly that was 8 years ago, England went on to get a hiding from New Zealand, and Australia won the next tournament (without facing England) but let's skate over that.

Sadly, I don't really care about rugby, but there are crumbs of comfort out there.

Well, what goes around comes around ! It wasn't that long ago that our cricketers were over there getting beaten 3-1 in the ashes by Gower's team.

The West Indies seemed that invincible in the 80's that it looked like no-one would ever beat them - now everyone can

Your time will come again - just hopefully not too soon

You who know my posts know my passion for rugby and I honestly believe England are playing better rugby than the Aussies. It seems to me a matter of want, which is what the game is all about and what makes it great. The Poms want to win more than the aussies and they believe in themselves. I hate to put emphasis on one player as ruggers is more a team game than any other, but Wilkinson is the pin for the Poms. If he stays fit you have a massive chance. I can't say the same about the English cricketers, but I know the rugby psyche and the Poms will be in the top 4 nations come world cup final time, and they will do it with style. However, they will lose in the final to Australia 36-34… as is the way when an Englishman sticks his head up to far

Actually, it was 1985, 18 years ago!
