Bangladesh was bowled out for 124 about an hour ago, against Sri Lanka. This is not unusual for Bangladesh, to be bowled out for a poor total.

However, an unusual occurence took place in the first over of their innings. Vaas from Sri Lanka took a hat-trick with the first three balls of Bangladesh's first over. Another wicket followed in the fifth ball, and Bangladesh were 4/5 off 1 over. The over went like this: W W W 4 wd W 0

I think that's a pity, or more to the point a problem with these 'B' grade nations playing in the big time, that records get established and smashed and pass over some classic player efforts of yester year. Crickets not the only problem. Australia play New Guinea in rugby league test matches sometimes and score loads of tries.

I know it's hard to grow the game without introducing teams like Bangladesh and Canada, I just think it's a shame that scores and records get kept as an International..

Bertho, whilst agreeing with your sentiments about the "B" rated sides - You cannot but praise any bowler who bowls an over which reads WWW4(wide)W(DOT) in any game of cricket at any level. I'll admit the Bangladeshi batsman contributed to their own down fall but the bowling of Charminder Vaas (Final figures of 9.1 overs 2 maidens 6 wickets for 25 runs) was a superb demonstration of how to bowl in one day cricket.

Only problem is, BanglaDesh are no longer (supposedly) a 'B' grade team. They have full Test membership now.

Agreed Dalgleish, but the bowling of Vaas was inspired! (a one off and I'm glad to say I saw history being made)

I take your point well Fosse, but how often do you see a hat trick in international cricket? The best bowlers in the world are lucky to get one, maybe two in 12 years at the top level. I'm not having a dig at Vaas, he's top shelf, but I'd probably be more excited for him if the wickets were against a top 5 country.

I just happened to have it on, and I'm glad I didn't change over to watch the news. Junior Wonderful was watching with me, and it was the first hat trick he's ever seen. He was pretty pumped.
