True, I "am" a newbie here, and maybe this has already been discussed, but I have to ask, since I don't see it.
No fans of "24"? Oh my GOD, I have been obsessed with "OZ" "Six Feet Under" etc etc, but this FOX show has topped any HBO show! Very exciting, very unpredictable and very up to date on the happenings here in the beautiful USA!

I started watching the second series which started here just last week. Two hours down ... 22 to go. Thankfully Keifer got rid of the beard. Didn't get into the first one, missed the first few weeks and couldn't catch up.

We're pretty careful about not giving much away on TV shows as other countries are so far behind. If you're going to give vital information put in a "spolier warning" in the topic heading so those that aren't up date know not to read any further

Yup, Australia.

That must have been quite a weekend you had watching the first one!

Do you need to know what happened in the first to understand the second series? How many hours are you into the second one?

No way! I never saw the first season when I got hooked on the 2nd.
We are left with 4 hrs remaining in the 2nd season which would mean that this tuesday we should see from 9-10 PM...The first season is truly intense, and VERY MUCH WORTH watching, but for some reason I am more hooked on season 2.
How bout the prez's wife? What a bitch! (you'll hate her even more when you watch season 1) you really should order it online!

Ducky, my sister turned me on to "24" and I love it. I didn't see season 1 but she fills me in on any questions I have. Yeah I hate the Prez's "X". There are more twists and turns to this show than any pretzel in the world. I can't wait to see how it all turns out. I know what you are doing with the marathon watching. My sister doesn't get HBO so I tape "Sopranos" for her and we get together and watch like 6 hours at a time. I never get tired of watching that show. Also "Six Feet Under", "Oz" and "Sex and the City". My true addiction is "Survivor". A guilty pleasure, perhaps. I have a friend, who is an actor, who has appeared on "Oz" for 3 of the seasons as a C.O. I'm always looking in the background for him. He's not in the last season because he has a regular gig on "Ed" now. I don't watch "Ed" very much because I never spot my friend, but I try every once and awhile. I'm taping the last season of "Oz" to show my sister. I'm not so sure she's going to like it very much, but she should see it.

I didn't watch the first season of 24 because it looked so dippy on the previews. I'm sure I made a big mistake. Season two has me SO GRIPPED! I positively cannot miss a single episode. I am literally on the edge of my seat, the show is that engrossing! The day's almost over now - I hope Sherri gets what's coming to her soon!

The first episode was screened here tonight and I'm hooked already.

I loved the first series, trying to guess who the 'mole' was became, almost, a national pasttime. It's him..no it's her...or could be him! Gripping stuff right up to the last minute.
I have been looking forward to this new series for months and it doesn't look like it's going to disappoint me.

I'm a bigg 24 fan!! I love the plots and camera shots. Unfortunately, besides keifer sutherland, I think they could use some better actors. The president seems to just be saying lines, and Sherry seems like she's trying to be in a soap opera. But I love her character. I think my favorite this season is Marie.

pj, check out Haysbert (the President) in "Far From Heaven". He does an outstanding job in the part of an educated black man in the very conservative 1950's Connecticut town who takes over his father's landscaping business. He is a very fine actor. You are right, Sherry is right out of a very bad soap opera. She is the queen of drama on what is usually very understated acting by the rest of the cast.

I haven't seen that movie, I'll have to check it out! And now that I'm thinking about it, it really is just Sherry that brings the cast down so much. Maybe she'll be gone by next season.
