Not many details, yet. But, "Fire broke out at an oil refinery on the edge of Staten Island, sending black smoke and flames hundreds of feet into the air over New York Harbor."

This was at 10AM EST today (2/21).

Anyone up there have more details for us? How are y'all doing?

The explosion and fire, which killed two people, is now considered accidental. At first, people in the surrounding vicinity were quite frightened by the very loud noise and billowing clouds of black smoke, because they feared another terrorist attack had occurred. But, at this point, it is regarded as an unfortunate accident.
I was in the City when the explosion occurred, but on the East River side of Manhattan. I neither saw nor heard anything and no one on the streets was reacting to anything either. Closer to Staten Island the situation was apparently different.
