Hi there all,

I've been a regular on the site for a few years now, but have not delved into the forums (my apologies!!).

I'm currently in Kuala Lumpur and I would like to see the World Cup semi-final between Australia and Sri Lanka. Any ideas where I can see this? The people here have been mostly helpful, but nothing as yet. Any leads would be appreciated. Helppppppppppp :-)

Thanks
Hews

Not sure about watching the game but doesn't ABC radio from Australia spread out into Asia? perhaps, at least, you'd be able to listen? Or even pick it up on the Internet? Just a thought!!

ABC radio - I dont know

But I do know that SET MAX and Sony television broadcast in Malay land (due to the Indian population there..); so you should be getting it there!

Nevertheless since you are in Kuala Lumpur, why don't you go watch the Aslan hockey tournament?

Go to the sports bar in the Hotel 'Grand Blue Wave.' it's central and they have Aussie cable/sattelite coverage. It'll be on for sure.

Ok..........the aftermath!!

Thanks all for the tips. The radio was indeed available. And it was an Indian channel which produced the goods. Almost took you up Bertho, only the beer-swilling English majority in said venue wanted to watch Champion's League replays and had the balance of power!!!

I took a taxi to the Malaysian Cricket Association and they were most helpful (couldn't get the tel. number off the net!!). They gave me a list of venues - ended up at "Ronnie Q's", an Indian pub in Bangsar. Quite a trendy bar, but clearly the most hostile crowd from an Aussie fan's point of view that I have ever experienced. I assured them all after the game that we would go on to beat KENYA in the final - not a popular assertion, I can tell you, however tongue in cheek it was!

Anyway, thanks guys,

Hews

Tongue in Cheek - I wouldn't want to be in the same bar after tomorrows game (and you can take that whichever way you want to)
