"Teardrops of Life"
A teardrop fell, when you were conceived,
the happiest news, I'd ever received.
another fell, the day you were born,
to love you forever, that day I had sworn.
A teardrop fell, your first day of school,
to feel the emptiness, was oh so cruel.
Another fell, when you were hurt and cried,
and from you my sorrow, I tried to hide.
A teardrop fell, when love you first found,
in jealous bands of steel, my heart was bound.
Another fell, when to college you went,
and many more, with each letter I sent.
A teardrop fell, when you were wed,
and down the aisle, you I had led.
Another fell, when you conceived,
and a granddaughter, I received.
A teardrop fell, thru happiness and strife,
we all must go thru, the teardrops of life.
For not to do so, is not to live,
tears must fall, if love we give.
