How can anyone lose a song?
Again, I ask. Summer 1981. UK radio one played song regularly. Words 'Torpedo Torpedo, happy holiday, ...., look out kids it's bombs away, and ended with an appropriate bang sound effect. I could write the music here but I don't have the program, but the nearest tune I know is 'Rocking around the Christmas tree'. I just tried everyhit, but its lists only select some records, and I tested it on one I knew already and it came up zero. Pity it can't perform on the day.

I have an old Top Twenty charts book, covers 1955 to 1987 and there is nothing which leaps out at me yelling tornado or bombs away.

I'll find a way to write the music using note letters a-g, I'm amazed such a popular song has disappeared from this universe- maybe I've shifted mine!

I have now added the music on a new question marked 'torpedo'.
I checked the charts, amazingly enough there's a song called 'Holliedaze' for the exact time I heard it, it does share a word with my song but turned out to be Hollies medley. I am amazed but none the wiser!
