You cheated with the taste test, you hid the Marmite under the Vegemite, it might have been a different tale had you ONLY given him Marmite.

I think for me it will always be Cadburys closlely followed by Terry's (Chocolate Orange and Twilights) and then Mars (the Celebrations assortment) Although I have cut down a awful lot, I still enjoy Chocolate on a Friday, and a little over the weekend!

Hmm. This is hard. I love all chocolate, but the best that I've ever had is Godiva. I love the stuff!

For chocolates ("pralines") Belgium usually wins as far as I'm concerned, though there are also some high-grade handmade English chocolates, too.

As for chocolate as such, there are some outstanding Swiss firms. When I visited Switzerland as a child, the occasional bar of 'Frigor' (as I thin it was called) was a great treat.

As for the stuff turned out by Cadbury's - Bourneville is ok, but I wouldn't call the rest of their stuff 'chocolate' or 'chocolates' at all!

My favorite: solid milk chocolate. None of that nuts business. Usually Hershey's or Cadbury or Gheredetti (something like that).

I agree! I loathe Cadburys Turkish Delight bars, although I love the real thing (Turkish delight, I mean.) I cannot imagine a world without chocolate. What on earth was life like before it was discovered...

For what it's worth, I'm one of the few who likes Hershey's. Dark chocolate, I find milk chocolate too sweet.

I love Nestle's Mint Aero and any plain white chocolate (as long as it doesn't have nuts or anything else in it). I also love belgian chocolate especially when it's in Ice-cream.

I love dark chocolate with almonds. Ghiradelli plain bars or Ande's mints are fine; for 'junkier' chocolate I like Hershey's M and M's.

Kate,

I'd give my left arm for dark chocolate and almonds. In fact, I have some in my pantry right now. I always keep a supply handy...it helps keep me going some days

I vote for Finland's Fazer sininen (blue wrapper) chocolate. Simply the best!

Welcome to the forums Sue.

I have just had a small packet of Maltesers, I rarely buy them these days, chocolate is a special treat.

There was a bar of chocolate called Cabana, had toffee and coconut with glace cherries in. I loved them!! I also much prefer Cadburys to other makes.

To be honest I think everyone would agree that the absolute best chocolate the world over is whatever chocolate happens to be sitting in front of you (working on the any is better than none principle)

Edited to add that I'd also have to admit that white 'chocolate' just doesn't cut it with me - I find the stuff sickeningly sweet, so don't buy any.

In terms of chocolate bars, I have to say that Cadbury Fruit and Nut is right up there. However I do have a real weakness for chocolate coated marshmallow Sanatas (and Easter eggs, and witch's brroms)...yum. Of course these are not really chocolate, just chocolate dipped.
