Hmm i saw John Mellencamp on his Lonesone Jubilee tour circa 1988 i think. That was pretty good, about three hours.
Favourite "pub" show goes to either of two Australian bands, hard rockin 80's trio V Spy v Spy, who i understand are still going around in Brasil of all places.
Weddings, Parties Anything a legendary band now broken up, if you havent heard the live version of A Tale They Wont Believe, then i'm sorry but you havent lived.
Honourable mentions go to Grant Lee Buffalo (saw them supporting REM), Hunters and Collectors, and (a little surprisingly) Suzanne Vega!

I think Vega would be a lovely show.

If we're going to talk bar shows, I'm going to be cheeky and say my favorite bar show was seen from ON the stage, rather than in front of it. Behind a microphone, no less. It was the last gig before our first bassist moved to Seattle. Now, the lead singer and guitarist has gone to Las Vegas, and the drummer drinks too much. So I just sit and remember the "good old days."

My least favorite such show was two summers ago, when I was 5 months pregnant, and the Las Vegas gal came back for a visit. We did an outdoor concert, in 105 degree heat, facing into late afternoon sun with nothing overhead but the sky. By the last two songs, my feet were so swollen I had to take my sandals off, and I was so parched I could barely sing. But, on the bright side, it was fun, and for the first time ever, I didn't have to load my 75 pound keyboard and 50 pound amp myself.

I have only to one concert so far. It was an Evanescense concert. But there was also other bands there. There was Cold, Revis, Chevelle, and some new bands, I can't remember there names. I saw it in Detroit (across the border) at a place called Harpo's. It was really big. Pretty cool. I intend on going to the AFI concert, and the Blink 182 concert, in time. It'll be cool.

Oh, I'm so jealous. I love Placebo. Do me one favor, I don't care how far away you are from the band, blow Brian a kiss for me.

We're so stoked (me and my mate), they came last July and we went and saw them, and here they are again! Less than a year !!

I will do my best to blow Brian a kiss for you...although I will have to get past my friend to do it !

I guess asking you to plow your friend over would be just a tad mean right?

It might be a teensy weensy bit to ask...generally, I'm the stronger of the pair of us...but she's insane about Molko, and I don't want to be on the receiving end of that fury !

My favorite concerts were from three different genres. I saw RUSH three times in the early 90's, and they are, by far, the best rock concert I have seen. I saw Garth Brooks in 1999, and he was phenomenal. I saw James Taylor in 1987 and he puts on a most excellent show.

The only concert that I have been to was Kelly Clarkson. It was amazing. Sometimes singers that you like aren't that good live, but she was great!

I saw Rod Stewart in concert in Greenville, SC, last night. He puts on an amazing show. I especially like the second half of the show when he brought out the orchestra, to perform the songs from his new album, The Great American Songbook. It has remakes of big band songs from the 1920s. He also performed most of his older hits as well.

My favorite concerts were the Moody Blues when they came to Santa Fe, New Mexico during the early 1990's. They didn't do anything spectacular or unusual, just sang all those wonderful songs that I have loved for so long. The first time, I was about 30 rows away from the stage; the next year when they came back, I was on Row 2.

I saw David Bowie at the Barrowlands in Glasgow (Scotland), and I was expecting a great deal, but I was stunned by the sheer charisma of the man when he walked onto the stage and started sing "Quicksand". Just himself and an acoustic guitar. I swear, I nearly wet myself. I've seen many concerts in my time, but on that evening I realised just why the man is regarded as such a legend. Easily my favourite, but I've got a ticket for the Kraftwerk gig next month, so that may change!

Shania Twain - Up! Tour. I got 5th row, and it was the best! So fun! At the beginning, she had this silhouette thing on the stage and so everyone was looking at that, but I knew she wasn't on stage and I turned to where she was coming from and she looked and smiled at me! It was so great!

Fleetwood Mac- Say You Will tour- I didn't get that great of seats for this one, but they are coming back so hopefully I can get as good of seats as I did for Shania. But it was great also! And Lindsey Buckingham did some stuff he shouldn't have...(nothing nasty!)

Hmm, not sure if I could pick an ultimate favorite concert. I've got several outstanding ones though..

A Perfect Circle last year in a medium sized venue. Just raw power.
Candlebox in '95 in a small venue. Fun but not crazy.
Tim Easton last year in a shady bar. Just him, his guitar and harmonica. Wow.
Sarah McLachlan at a huge outdoor stadium. She sang to the full moon!

I agree with A Perfect Circle. I saw them in a small theater (reminded me of an old opera house) in Jacksonville, FL last year and it was an incredible experience. It was so intimate a setting that even the usually elusive Maynard took to some dialogue with the audience. James Iha even told some jokes. What a great show.

Emerson Lake and Palmer during the 70s, Genesis Live ( because I was there, DeMontfort Hall, Leicester) and Pink Floyd at Wembley Arena in the early 70s when they did Dark Side of the Moon.

I had the pleasure of seeing The Frames and Damien Rice last night. That show put everything else I've seen to shame. Wonderful.

Aww, do you really want me to tell you??

It was fantastic !

We managed to wiggle our way to the front again, although I lost my mate fairly early on in the set (I had to protect my sister, whereas my girl can look after herself ) but we definitely had a great view (even though a back view would still be pretty good in my opinion )

I just can't believe that Brian can belt it out like thatfor so long and still manage to sound (and yes, look ) so good at the end of it all...they played a lot of stuff from the other albums which was fantastic, even though it was a little suprising because apparently Brian doesn't like playing anything off their debut.

Brian was fantastic, Stef as always remains one of the best stage dancers I've ever seen and some lucky cow to the left of me got one of Steve's drumsticks (it was supposed to be mine !!)...but it was fantastic...

I'm glad you enjoyed the show Tanzen. Hopefully, my favorite little goth boy will make his way to my neck of the woods sometime in the near future.

So, did ya blow him a kiss for me?

Yes, I actually got to blow him a kiss for you...one of the advantages of losing my girl so early on in the set

Be sure to return the favour for me next time they're down your way (preferably to Steve )
