Oh well..here we go again. The 'world' series in baseball, which only American teams take part in??? Superbowl 'world' champions...only American teams in that.
I thank you, and rest my case.

Well, there are two Canadian baseball teams but they haven't seen fit to join in the series for some time now. As for strange terminology we have a sinker, a knuckleball, and a change-up but nothing that is quite a good as a googly.

I don't suppose you have a silly mid-on either. And you probably don't understand how a bowler can sprint up to the wicket without any difficulty, even if he has one fine long leg and one short square leg.

Not to mention 3 or 4 guys fielding in slips, and one standing in the gully!

Why is everyone making so many 'silly points' ?

Die hard - read my earlier post - I have, quite clearly, mentioned why Canada doesn't merit recognition.

Does any baseball stadium have a tree in the playing field? Ask the English or South Africans for more details on this...

I am surprised that no-one has come up with these gems..

Having a slash outside off stump,
Tickling one around the corner...

Even that well known position of 'Cow Corner' would be hard to explain... how can you have corners on an oval field?

Also, contrary to popular opinion, a short backwards square is NOT a mentally-deficient midget in flares and a tie-dyed T-shirt..

The real question it seems is why you would have cows?

Watching Boston and Anaheim play yesterday I did see a ball hit in the alley, though I didn't see a play go around the horn. Garret Anderson crushed a meatball after missing a backdoor slider. I don't remember who, but someone reached base on a Baltimore chop even though it was a bang-bang play. Pedro Martinez through a few yakkers and recorded several whiffs. Veritek hit a tater but unfortunately there was no rhubarb.

Ozz, technically speaking, you are right – before the days of the mowers, Cows used to do this work.

Again I wonder how Kriket got the Chinese connection – Chinese cut, Chinaman, Chinatown (Sorry…).

Again I am not sure of this, but has any baseball player hit a spectator with the bat because the latter called him a ‘potato’.
Did you ever have Umpires (and players too) undressing in front of the crowd.

And for the most important question: In which other sport can you play for 5 consecutive days and not reach a result? (It was reduced to 5 days after the infamous ‘Timeless test’ which went on for 10 days (not sure on the number of days..))

Kevin, why do you want to walk 20 metres to get a beer? Cricket stadiums have a bar right in the stadium.

Ace, I'm actually talking about 20 metres from you are PARTICIPATING in the sport, not watching it.

sorry, World Series doesn't meet the criteria no 1 (that it is played outside the U.S of A).
Sorrrryy, Canada doesn't count.. (the 51st State Amendment)

Ace, that's the problem with this medium, it doesn't allow for for things like facetiousness (is there such a word?). I was actually having a go at our American friends.

Oh, it's not your fault, I am quite daft (in the head primarily).....

Wow, 20 metres from playing field is cool but can you throw the bottles (empty or full) at the players?

I used to play cricket and do various martial arts (tae kwon do, escrima, kendo etc) now I grow old - and wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled - and find breathing and walking adequate sports.

Regards,
Tin

I do gymnastics and swimming. I am only good at sports that fit 3 requirements:
1. No balls
2. No body contact
3. Not much teamwork

That basically eliminates everything except gymnastics and swimming. I also like horseback riding and volleyball.

I don't think I'd be very good at gymnastics and swimming. Criterion 1 would rule me out straight away . Although I understand the need for that criterion for horseback riding.

I want to believe that I am GOOD at any sport which does NOT meet the above criteria
