I don't know if I'm putting this in the right place so if I'm not please excuse me.

I was wondering if I could find out from all of you here in the forums if you knew anything about the Lost Generation. I am doing a research paper for school and I wanted to get input from other people on what they know about this generation. If you know anything about them please let me know. I would appreciate it very much. Thanks for your time.

Hi aprilshower. This seems a good place to ask your question. I think you may find that more than one generation has at some time or another been described as 'Lost'. It would be helpful if you could indicate the approximate time and also the country or countries that you are studying.

Can you give us a little more information? Do you mean "the Stolen Generation" (i.e. the Australian Aborigines)?

The term is often used to refer to the American expatriate writers who settled in Europe (mainly in Paris and the south of France) between the wars (Hemingway, Fitzgerald, cummings, MacLeish and others). If that's who aprilshower is looking for, there's a site here that has some information on them and some links to other sites.

I only thought there was one "Lost Generation" but TabbyTom knew who I was asking about. If anybody else has information on the "Lost Generation" please let me know. If it's just websites or anything else please tell me. It would be very helpful.

A man wrote a book about it. His name was Hemingway.
The book was called "The Sun Also Rises".
A lot of people read it.
"It's a good book", some of them said.
Hemingway wrote some more books. Then he died.

Hey April!!! Question: Was T.S. Eliot considered a part of the Lost Generation as well? I'm doing a research paper on (get this) How The Jazz Age Influenced American LIterature, I wanted to include Eliot but I wasn't sure if he's apart of the Lost Generation....

Well, how about that! You learn something new every day. I studied Hemingway, Fitzgerald etc in Literature at high school but I don't recall having heard about the "Lost Generation".

You know what Lily, I read that T.S. was part of the lost generation. He dominated poetry after world war 1. Go here to read about members of the lost generation.

I checked out the book The Sun Also Rises and I am in the middle of reading it.
