For a long time it was a toss up between "Gone Till November" and "Will You Go to Bed With Me?". When "Sk8er Boy" came out it immediately slotted into third place. But Madonna's new song (I don't even know what it's called) has overtaken them all, and has officially won the title of "most annoying song I've ever heard"!

I think lots of 80s music would apply for this "honor," but the song that annoys me most is "Arms Wide Open" by Creed. I call it the 3 note song, because that is the sum total of different notes the song uses. Talk about boring!

Look, let's be upfront about it. Sk8rboi is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. As such I have to go way, way into the past to attempt to eclipse it with "One Tin Solider", a/k/a The Ballad of Billy Jack, one of those awful, ridiculous, takes-itself-way-too-seriously 70's songs which (I believe) purported to communicate the essential message that war was bad and peace was good. I guess it was helpful in its own way, though, because otherwise people might think war was GOOD and peace was BAD, or even worse yet "BAD" like Stalin, or that horrible-looking old witch who tried to make The Little Rascals eat mush that was made with Plaster of Paris.

Coolup, what I find particularly worrisome about your post is the fact that you know how to spell "Sk8rboi" (please note: I got it wrong ).

Nelly's Air Force Ones takes the cake as the most annoying song ever.
It's a sneaker commercial for goodness sakes!

Guess I'm the only one who likes the Sk8er Boi song...
"Achy Breaky Heart" was very annoying. That it crossed over to Top 40 radio was even more annoying because it seemed to be playing everywhere and probably was.
Cher's "Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves" was not only annoying
but it was one of those songs that would wedge itself uninvited in my head.
Probably most annoying because I still hear it during "retro lunch" on the work radio is Styx's "Mr.Roboto". That voice, those lyrics- arrrgghhhh! Don't "Kilroy", kill the radio!

Anything from Avril Laveign or Christina Aguigerlera(I know I spelt it wrong). Enough said. (Oh and can't forget little Miss. Britney Spears!)

It's a tossup between "Mambo Number 5" and "Who Let the Dogs Out". Can't stand either of them!

For me it would have to be "The Montagues and the Capulets" from Prokoviev's "Romeo and Juliet". It's one of those songs that you hear on the radio in the morning, and before you know it, you can't get it out of your head. Honestly, the number of times I've caught myself walking down the street humming "BA ba ba ba BA ba ba ba BA ba ba ba ba BBAAAA".

I don't know the name of this song from the 70's or who sang it, but it seems like the only line in it, repeated over and over and over, was "Oh it's sad to belong to someone else when the right one comes along". I just remember hearing that song everywhere I went for years and years, and I still have to put up with it!

Once upon a time I was a naive little brat in the SECOND GRADE who listened to d@mn Britney Spearinthehead. It all freaks me out now. She's scary. Just like Avril Lavigne. AND she's a snob. Even if you haven't met her you could tell.

Muskrat Love by The Captain and Tenille is pretty annoying along with that horrible screaming song by Minnie Ripperton.

If they ever found Weapons of Mass Destruction in Florida it would be to wipe out all traces of " It's a Small World" from Disney World in Orlando. I am assuming it is still playing as I have not been there for a while.

Have you no taste man? I like "It's a Small World" I have it on CD in four languages. It was the high spot of our trip to EuroDisney last year. I eagerly look forward to hearing it in its original setting in Orlando next year.
Anyway the Hall of the Rat King is a weapon of mass destruction it has wiped out more cultures than I care to think about.

Enjoy your trip to Orlando, Tielhard. I will hope for your sake, that due to a mechanical problem, you will not be trapped inside with it playing for 2 hours like we were the first time we went there. Let me know how you got on but do take ear plugs as a precaution.

"Oh it's sad to belong to someone else when the right one comes along".
I believe that song is "Sad To Belong" by England Dan and John Ford Coley. I would hum a few bars but since it is so annoying.....

Can you imagine having to SING "It's a Small World" in three different languages (English, Hebrew and Afrikaans) for a school concert?

I'll have you know I looked absolutely adorable! (We were dressed as very unauthentic looking Spanish dancers).
