I'm not sure what my favourite song is as I have so many but I know that my young son's favourite is a version of "Ag Pleaze Daddi" that I get to sing some ten time a day . I think it is all the sweeties in the chorus he likes.

It's too difficult to settle on just one definitive favourite, but the song that always springs first to mind when this question is asked is...

'No Excuses' by Alice in Chains.

Six-way tie:

"Caribbean Blue" by Enya
"Astrud" by Basia
"Hanky Panky" by Madonna
"To Sir With Love" by Lulu
"Believe" by Cher
"Brand New Key" by Melanie

I only listen to music by female vocalists with one name.

For me it has to be I'm not in love by 10cc. Great vocal effects, especially for the time (1975).

There is only one for me, really . It is
"You'll Never Know".
Mind you I love everything Eric Clapton has done, ever.
And I love "Frank Mills" from "Hair"
"She's My Lovely"
"Scatterbrain"
"Take the 'A'Train" and
anything sung in the back of the Rugby Coach back to Falmouth from Gloucester on a Saturday night....

My current favorite songs are "A Minha Menina" by A Band of Bees. I think it's a cover of an older song but not sure who did the original. My favorite song of the last six months or so is "Tom the Model" by Beth Gibbons. This song should be called "Do What You Want To Do" as that's the line that gets
the most repeated in the chorus. I don't know the story behind the song or if it has a weird meaning to it but I like it anyway.

Favorite songs of all time- ack, that's hard to choose. I know
that "Layla" is among them as is BTO's "Let It Ride", Aretha's
"Until You Come Back To Me", Bevis Frond's "He Had You",
Mary Lou Lord's "His Latest Flame", Richard X. Heyman's "Running After You", and Neko Case's version of
the Everly Bros' "Bowling Green". So many favorite songs, so little brain space to remember them in!

Hmmmm....can I have two?

"Something" by the Beatles; and
"Perfect Day" by Lou Reed...

...and I'm stopping there...

(Am I the only one picturing Cool dancing around the house.... "some people say I done alright for a girl"... ?)

Coolupway, your choices tell an interesting story. Isn't it interesting the things you come up with when you're listening to music? While listening to Avril Lavigne's version of Knockin' On Heaven's Door, I wondered how she'd sound singing Candles In The Rain or indeed Brand New Key.

And of course, Coolupway's the one who posted the annoying thread "We need more threads about Vanessa Carlton!" And Coolupway says he/she listens to singers with one-word names only. :P

I only like sixties music so my favorite song would have to be either "the Sun Ain't gonna Shine anymore" or "God Only knows."
