Can anyone tell me what HFC stads for? My suspicions are Hamilton finance company, as they have various subsidiaries called Hamilton, but it is part of Household International Inc., so the H could be Household.

There is a company on this side of the Atlantic by the name of Household Finance Company or more familiarly known as HFC (not to be confused with KFC ) http://www.householdfinance.com/ln/lnhf_Home.jsp

Update nearly 2 years later: UK branches of HFC bank (Household Finance Corporation) are now all called Household.
Maybe someone had a word with them...
