Well, I think if someone looked behind the veil they would see people who they knew who had died. Either that or they'd die. I didn't get the ghost part. Do you think Luna Lovegood will be important in the sixth book.

I bet so. Usually that's how it is with new characters. (i.e Snuffles, Lupin)
Loony Lovegood is funny.

Well, Luna or Loony should have been introduced earlier. She's a great character. I think she'll be very important in the other books. Have you noticed that she shows very few emotions in the book. I think that she will really help Harry in his fight against Lord Voldemort.

Totally agree with you.

Who do you think Harry will be with next? I'm guessing Luna.

I think that's pretty far-fetched.

Some people are saying Harry and Ginny, but I still think Luna.

Good always triumphs over Evil so I think Harry will live and go on to do exceptional things with his life.
I also think that Harry and Hermonie will end up together as she has strengths that will be useful to Harry in his fight against you know who.
I also think that HP might end up as the new Master of Hogwarts.
That's just my opinion.

I'm sure JKR said that in this book [doing] magic would come to someone late in life.

I think this would be Neville, at least as part of DA he is a lot more successful than in previous books, and I think I will have to delete my quiz called Nervous Neville.

Didn't JKR say that there would be a classmate of Harry's who would become a professor?

Sorry to interupt your chat guys - but the thread title is Kids Books Club - If you want to start a debating club on Harry Potter then please do so under another thread title specific to the thread Harry Potter isn't the only childrens book on sale at the moment (there are far better books for under 3's under 5's, under 10's etc AND some may even think that THE REAL WORLD is more interesting! .

Well, Etartherat's post on July 2 names "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" as the current topic, and suggests the new characters and the pairings as subjects for discussion, so I think the discussion might be allowed to carry on for a bit yet.

Either Neville's going to teach Herbotology, or Hermione will either teach Transfiguration or Charms.

Hermione ultimately could teach anything she wanted to.

Hi Guys, If you want to emulate the Monthly Book Club review then please nominate you childrens book for August.
Majority rule!
Which book do you want to read (agasin?) and discuss./
Can I suggest "DR NO" by Ian Fleming - (Forget the film it's rubbish!, it was the first Bond book I read as a teen)) PERHAPS you would like to suggest something else! and we can vote on which book to discuss for August!
You have to remember that I'm an oldie (who reads the Terry Pratchett or HP before giving them as gifts to kids) but whatever you choose I'll read with you and give you my opinions and they may not be favourable to your favourite author.

I suggest the book "Little Britches" by Ralph Moody - I know I'm not part of the kids' book club, but I am a teenager, and I can safely say it's a book that kids and tweens would enjoy. It's for both girls and boys - my family has spent the past two years making our way throught his series of memoirs ( 7,8 books) with my dad reading them aloud to us. They're funny and sad - they are his true memoirs but they read like a novel.

Oh well, July is almost over, so soon we'll have stop talking about HP5, but I am determined to get the last word/ post on this subject.

In the 6th HP book, Harry has to be the quidditch captain for Gryffindor, and Ginny will be a chaser.

Pearldust - We all know (It was clearly stated in the first novel) that Harry is the chosen one and destined to be the ............................................. (but that shouldn't prevent the enjoyment of reading his journey to be it).

what do you suggest for reading next month?
This is a Junior book club so you can say what you like about the chosen book. Discussion on the chosen book is not only permitted it's encouraged.

Since the book for August has already been chosen, can I suggest " A Little Princess " by Frances Hodges Burnett for September.
