According to many sites:
in the 1992-93 season Millwall became the first British club to have 4 players sent-off in a match; Malcolm Allen was the 4th player sent-off. I've gone through many sites and books, and can't locate the match and date, e.g. Millwall 1992-93 Appearances.

Anyone know if this is fact, or an urban legend?

All the sites I've looked at only cites that as rumour.

The best factual evidence I could come up with of 4 players from one UK team being sent off was Wigan v Bristol Rovers Div 2 match played 2nd Dec 1997 where five players were sent off, 4 of them Rovers leaving them to play the last 20 minutes with 7 men on the pitch.

No doubt you already knew that!

To my great chagrin, I work with a Millwall fan (yeuch!), who unbelievable as it may sound, seems to enjoy football almost as much as the inevitable after-match fracas.

G, if anyone knows.........he will.

I'll get back to you.

(if it's an urban legend concerning sending-offs connected with the Lions, you can almost guarantee that it's true).
