Pearl, no one is suggesting you can't make posts on this website, but what has been suggested is that it is made in a more suitable place. Bulletin boards at Quizzyland have been created, by the Webmaster, specifically with this sort of thing in mind. If you go there, I am sure that , if you want to create 30 threads about Harry Potter , no one will mind. It is just that it is all a bit monotonous in a Forum that is devoted to a wide choice of other types of books. The whole point about the Quizzyland boards is that they are less rigidly ruled . I love Harry Potter books. I am still reading the latest one, having had less time to read it than most. It would irritate me and many others far less if you could continue your discussion in a more suitable place . Please.

Join the fora at the link I sent you...none of them are over 16, so you'll fit in perfectly.

Anyway, Harry x Luna is probably the most popular coupling for the 6th book. What happened to Ginny having a bigger role in Book 5? Maybe it'll happen in book 6...

Well, she was the replacement seeker, but you're right, she didn't influence the story much.

Please stop talking about book five, you have spoilers in one thread already, let that be enough PLEASE.

Terry has created a special chat zone for Harry Potter and is is scarcely used. Hopefully this link will take you there

Apparently there's quite a fuss going on here about Harry Potter. I haven't been able to post for quite a while, so my comment might be a little out of date now...
I really see what your point is. Of course, spoilers are a horrible thing (I'd probably go up the walls if I'd come across one before having finished the book), and it's not fair to post them without a warning. And yes, there are loads of Harry Potter threads here which are not all necessary.
But still - and I really don't mean to offend anybody! - there are quite a few people who have already finished the fifth book and are dying to talk about it. I don't quite see where the problem is if there's a thread (only one, though!), clearly marked as containing spoilers, where all those people can discuss. I mean, isn't it a natural thing to talk about the book as a whole in a thread about it? The same with the predictions. If someone is going to make a prediction on the sixth or seventh book, it's quite a natural thing to base this prediction on something they've read in the fifth one. I repeat, this is NOT meant to sound arrogant or oblivious or (can't think of another good word now), but what I want to say is the following, speaking from my own point of view: If I haven't finished a book yet, then why the heck should I go and see a thread where this very book is discussed??? I'm bound to come across a spoiler!
Yes, it's different with Harry Potter due to all the fuss about it. And yes, there are other websites which are solely about Harry Potter. But we could discuss the previous four HP books here as well, and we had a predictions thread for the fifth one (and it was a great one!) and no one bothered about that, either.
Just a thought.
Oh, and as to that chat room/message board - maybe there should be a bigger link to it. I only discovered it yesterday, and there were maybe two or three people who had posted there. I don't think that everyone knows about it.

I just want to repeat that I really do understand what annoyed you, spoilers and that stuff. But I also think that there would have been another way not to come across the spoilers in the first place.

I hope that you don't get me wrong.

I have to agree with Sue on this one, and not just for Harry Potter it does apply to all new releases, not everyone can read a book overnight, in a week, or even a month after it's release (for whatever reason), you also have to take into account that the Special Print versions (Braille, Audio etc) may not yet have been released to all parts of the world.
By all means start threads to discuss the previous books and guess what's going to happen in the next one , but please don't spoil the enjoyment of those who may just be a little slower in completing the book.
And remember that there will be some who are just starting to read the First Book!
So please make it evident in your thread title that you are discussing the books content/story/Last Page.
Thanks !

By this I am SURE (!) John doesn't mean start a new HP thread here.... DO you John?
The very point of Terry making the message boards in Q'land (and there is a new one specifically intended for people that want to do just what Pearl suggests,) was for people who want to keep on putting the sort of stuff that has been, up to now, in the threads here

The people here don't want to. From the many PM's I received about it, and the posts people have made about it, the majority don't want to. Believe me, they don't.
Try Sue's link. Please.

Ren - What I meant was -
If you want to discuss the contents of any new book! Then please in the title of the thread make it clear that this is a newly released book and you are giving away the storyline!
I know it's hard to keep the secret to yourself but please remember that others are just as excited to find out the conclusion of the story as you are.
And Please! only "One Harry Potter"!
