I'm surprised no one has mentioned Star Trek! I'm too young to have seen the original airings or know about the cancelling of it the first time, but it still counts, doesn't it? Thanks to reruns and DVD season sets, it has become a favorite.

Also, another one that I think was cancelled (not sure) and I was too young to see the original airings, but I saw reruns on Nick at Nite, was Get Smart. I loved that show, and now I can't even find any reruns even anymore.

Well, there's my two cents.

Just about all of the top rating shows from the 80's, most of which have been given a mention here... there... or somewhere else... oh, and of course... The Dukes of Hazzard .

There are so many cancelled shows I miss even though some are reruns. It isn't the same though because you don't get any new episodes.
Here are mine:

The Golden Girls (I have seen this show in reruns and absoultely love it to this day!)
Early Edition (Just really started getting into this show when they cancelled it.)
Our House
Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman
Touched By An Angel
Fraggle Rock (Love, Love, Loved this show when I was a kid!)
Under The Umbrella Tree
Family Matters
Family Ties
Growing Pains
Three's Company
Step By Step
Murder She Wrote
Lois and Clark
Frasier
Home Improvement (I have the final episode on tape and it is so sad.)
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

I agree. Some shows don't return by choice while others aren't given one. Either way here's a list of the shows I miss most.

Arrested Development ("The best show no one is watching")
Freaks and Geeks
Third Watch (not even available on DVD!)
Homicide: Life on the Street
NYPD Blue - it had a long life, but I still miss it.
NewsRadio - although it wasn't the same without Phil
Seinfeld (not cancelled, but missed nonetheless)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Friends (like a dear friend who's moved away never to be heard from again)
Frasier
Love Monkey
Six Feet Under
SITC
Brooklyn Bridge
Oliver Beene
Reunion (not a "fave", but at least finish out a season if you're going to air a whodunit)
Kitchen Confidential

Firefly. Of all the shows in the world, Firefly is the best cancelled show. I am now hesitant to watch anything on FOX just because I'm so upset that they cancelled Firefly. Oh it ticks me off..

My favorite canceled show is Dark Angel. I like season 1 the best, but season 2 was alright too.

I loved Thirtysomething. They made turning 30 cool. LoL I wasn't thirty yet-it left the air the year I turned 30. I told people that year that I was 30 nothing...oh my!

Along the same lines was Sisters. Four sisters (Alex (Swoosie Kurtz), Georgie (Patricia Kalember), Teddy (Sela Ward), Frankie (Julianne Phillips) and Charley (Jo Anderson & Sheila Kelley) and their crazy lives. It wasn't as good as Thirtysomething but still good.

THANK YOU! We must've been two of the three people that watched that show while it was on. That's the only show I've really fought for. I didn't even fight for "Family Guy" when it was taken off the air. "Kitchen Confidential" also never got the chance.

Although, after eight seasons, it was time for "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"to leave the TV broadcast airwaves, I was very sorry to see that well-written, literate show go. I also miss "Twin Peaks"(yes, I know, it went bye-bye AGES ago) and"MadAbout You" with its good writing and sophisticated references was always a show I enjoyed watching.

Firefly - yes, that was a good show. Another one was "Crusade" from the "Babylon 5" universe. Both of those should come back!

On my short list of TV shows that ended before their time:

"Miracles" - Why Angus MacFadyen didn't land more starring roles after "Braveheart", I'll never understand.

"Cupid" - Jeremy Piven is one of my favorite comedic actors. At least John Cusack is still able to get work, so we can keep seeing Jeremy in action.

"The Tick" (the live action series) - Brilliant casting! Patrick Warburton IS the personification of the comic book hero. And Nestor Carbonell: I just wanna wrap him up and take him home.

Finally, one show I miss which should have ended before it was pulled: "Moonlighting". They ought to have shut down production with the "I Am Curious...Maddie" episode and let them fade off into the sunset (er, sunrise?). Seasons 4 and 5 were painful to watch, just a total train wreck.

Commander In Chief - After only one season. It was such an interesting premise and had intelligent characters.

(Possibility of spoilers...?)

I was a bit frustrated when Farscape was cancelled but luckily they tied up all the loose ends with Peacekeeper Wars. I don't think Angel was finished properly, which was annoying, finally reaching the so-called apocalyptic battle but it ending with the words 'Let's go to work'. Aaargh! I wanted to see if the Shanshu prophecy came true or something. Buffy at least came to a actual conclusion with the destruction of Sunnydale.

Oh, how I miss Titus. That show was PERFECT. Hilarious one second, gut wrenching the next. Thank God for DVD releases! My favorite ep? "Tommy's Not Gay". So awesome in so many ways.

"Titus" was a very funny show. It was nice to see the lighter side of Cynthia Watros, I only ever knew her as a soap star before. The episode that sticks out most in my mind was the one where Christopher and Dave thought their dad was dead in his room, but he was just drunk or something. I also liked how Dave always fell for the "Cow!" thing, I still laugh at that whenever I see cows in a pasture.

That cracks me up, too. Zack Ward ("Dave") said in a interview that he had some lady come up to him on a plane and go, "Mooooo!" He had NO idea what was going on. (Well, it HAS been, like, 5 years.) He finally figured it out, though. Hysterical.

ETA: "That doesn't work every time." Oh, that Dave.

I also loved watching Grace Under Fire with Brett Butler. More than one person I've met has made a comparison between me and the main character. Let's see - blonde, smart aleck southern woman raising children alone in an old house in need of constant repair?...naw, they must be mistaken.

I miss a lot of the Australian Police Dramas. Blue Heelers was recently axed after something like 13 seasons, Stingers in 2004, Water Rats and White Collar Blue.
There aren't a lot of good Aussie Dramas left. Reality TV seems to have taken over and the few new shows that are trialed only seem to get a season of dodgy timeslots before they are axed completely... yet they are still good enough to release on DVD straight away.
