Well, patience is sometimes rewarded, I had this question on my website, and just got an email from a friend of one of the members
Quote " My best friend Paul was one of HLG's three saxophone players - he went by the name of Al Salvador. Other band member names were Pete O'Rico, Joanna Havana and The Andes. They gigged around London in 1980-81, cut two singles on Polydor and then split up. The Andes was Andy Morahan who later became a very successful video director - he won several MTV awards for videos like Don't Cry by Guns N Roses (he married Joanna H and they relocated to California in the 80s). he also directed Highlander 3, I think. Sadly drummer Mark died in the 90s from AIDS
complications brought on by a blood transfusion."
A second email revealed the single 'Torpedoes' was pulled by the main stations after its re-release in 1982 on the advice of Mrs Thatcher, as it may have been considered offensive after the sinking of the Belgrano in the Falklands War. That is the main reason for not only the lack of knowledge of, and success of the single, but the demise of the band in all likelihood. What an unfortunate coincidence, and now the reason why it took so long to find out about the band.
