For some amazing reason that mystifies me, our local multicinema ran this terrific Australian film for 2 nights; kind of sandwiched between The Hulk, Terminator 3 and Johnny English. I was pretty excited because I read a lot about the film and the stolen generation last year for a course I was preparing. Has anyone else seen it? Just wondering.

I loved the movie. In fact it was one of the few movies I bought on video last year

I don't usually promote my own quizzes but my 'Rabbit-Proof Fence' quiz has only been played 20 times since March. I have some interesting details in the Interesting Info.

Kuu, your quiz has just been played one more time.

I have not seen the movie, but I 'guessed' my way to 4/10 Nice quiz, by the way!

I enjoyed the movie a lot, and the quiz is great. What a surprise!

The movie was shown to Molly and Daisy before it was released. Molly was very upset after viewing it. She told the producers that they had told the wrong story. It seems that Molly wanted the story of her second walk told - the one that she made with her little Annabelle.

That's really interesting. I would imagine after a while the individual walks would blur in her memory, but the trip with the baby was obviously far more significant for her afgerwards. I was actually kind of amazed when I read the crawl at the end that explained the subsequent walk and what happened to her little girl. I really enjoyed the movie a lot - the girls were great and the landscape was unbelievable.

I really enjoyed the movie (and bought the video) but must warn you that they took some liberties with the facts. I would recommend that you also read the book, to get a better perspective. The events happened here in Western Australia, not far from where I live.
