I have uploaded a perl script (*.pl) to my GeoCities server, but can't figure out how to execute it! The only thing I seem to be able to do is view it with Notepad, which is not what I want. Do I need special software to execute the script?

Okay, I've given up on Perl scripts, I have found something that suits my requirements better. What I'm trying to do is set up a discussion board for topics related to India, there don't seem to be too many good ones on the internet. So I've downloaded this software called phpBB2. Now what I'm supposed to do is upload it, which I'm trying to do to a GeoCities account using WS_FTP, but every time I try I get an error '550'. Are there any WS_FTP users around who can help?

Harish, are you sure Geocities allows for uploading with a FTP-client? Lots of webspace providers only let you use their own tools. Error 550 means that you're trying to do something you're not allowed to. I don't use WS_FTP anymore, so I'm not much of a help, but maybe you can find a solution here? Good luck!
