Well on August 27th, Mars will be at its closest to Earth in 60,000 years. And it won't be as close in our lifetime. Has everyone been outside looking at the sky to find it? Or telescoping Mars?

I've checked it out for the past few nights, and it is the brightest planet in the sky. Very intersting.

Or, is that thing up there just a UFO?

And this event will not happen again until the year 2090.

Yeah! It's spectacular viewing about 9:30pm until the wee hours here. I don't have a telescope but it starts out rising with a very red color (due to the thickness of the atmosphere) and changes to a clear, bright object later in the evenings. I've been watching it for 2 weeks.
According to space.com it won't be seen with this brightness again until 2287.

I've already seen Mars once but will go to the nearest planetorium to see it again. I saw Mars on just about August 23 like a red ball in the sky. I've always been interested in astronomy and it's a great experience for me.

I go out each night to catch a view of Mars.
Here is a good site for some info.
All about Mars from @Discovery.ca a Canadian TV program
Check out "Astropotography" video. It shows how to take photos of planets at home. Some of you may be able to do this.
This is a news program we get here in Canada @11pm.
Most of the time I will skip the local news to watch this news program.

Enjoy,
Qwiz

Check out this web page:
