Today she would wear sneakers

Cinderella is one of our most beloved children's stories. Who can forget the mistreated girl who ends up with the Prince and the glass slipper?

Whoa! There ain't no glass slipper. This error came about because the most well known version of the old legend – the one from the Mother Goose stories – contains a mistranslation. The fellow who got it from the old French mistook "pantouffles en vair," slippers lined with white squirrel fur, for "pantouffles en verre," slippers of glass.

White squirrel fur? Not only does she really believe that she has a fairy godmother, she's also kinky to boot?

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA to you acronym freaks) frowns on women wearing glass slippers. Unauthorized wearing of glass footwear, unless the footwear conforms to US Mil Spec 5A3950399c for hardened glass footwear, is punishable by being denied all castle and prince privileges for a period of five years.

Does 'safety glass' count??

Myself, the furry slippers sound better.
