Wow, we've started off well.

So who posts the next question. Please, can I ask it ? (though I jolly well don't deserve it)

Go ahead Angi, give them a chance to score MAXIMUM of 6 points as well.

'Maximum' here has the same meaning as the Maximum marks on your Mathematics Question Paper

Thanks Manvinder, OK, Dinasours, I'm giving you a question for 4 runs. I can't give you 6 runs, anyway here it is.

Anil Kumble is the second bowler in Test cricket history to take 10 wickets in an innings. The first was Jim Laker. But in the test, in which he took 10 wickets, he got 19 wickets in total. That means he took 10 wickets in one innings and 9 wickets in another innings. He would have completed a 20 wicket haul, but could not do so beacuse of one bowler who took that wicket. What was the name of the bowler ?

Good going Wriks! What a team player, scuppering their dirty tricks campaign before they could do the dastardly deed.

Toss 'em a leg breaker!

I'll stand corrected on this one (but can I have a sundry/extra added)?
Burke Ct Cowdray B Locke is the non cricketing cricket record (the only one that Laker didn't take!)

Being generous - for two runs - who was the Yorkshireman who captained England and also Captained Leicestershire to the County Championship?

A player X was born in a country A, he played international test cricket for B and represented another country C in first class cricket. He was banned by a country D beacuse he was associated with a country E.
One run each for X, A, B, C, D and E.

That's an absolute corker, manvinder, my hat's off! It requires real knowledge of the game. Too hot for me, I fear, apart from having a guess that country E is possibly South Africa.

Group effort here required here then team. If any of you have an inkling about the player or any of the countries involved, then post away and the rest of us can see if we can help with verification before a final submission.

Ooops! Pardon me.

>>>before a final submission<<<

I don't think I could possibly have chosen a more unfortunate turn of phrase. Don't get your hopes up Mashers, we won't be giving in that easily, our motto is "Never Say Die".

Erm, what I actually meant was...before we present you with our final (correct) answer.

That's a uperb question, Manvinder, you had better put a time limit on it.

OK, we have got 6 questions asked already.

First one by Dalgeish
Second one by Harish
Third one by Izzi
Fourth One by Me
Fifth One by Fosse4
Sixth One by Manvinder.

So it's up to you, shall we continue the challenge or stop it ? If we do continue, please mention when we will stop. We can't go on forever. I was thinking that the first team to get 50 runs wins the challenge. What do you guys think ?

Does anyone on this list of Wisden's Five Cricketers of the Year 1970-Present spark any bright ideas for anyone?
