We'll just sit tight then and wait for either of you (doesn't really matter who!) in the final.

Wez, your Kiss of Death almost worked! The Welsh were VERY impressive; if only they did not give away so many penalties.

Northern V Southern hemisphere final coming up! Mon Dieu!

How much does Jonny W hold up that English side! If he's off, the whole team is off. When he's hot, the side looks like world beaters. England are as patchy as our own rogue marsupials.

Easily the best match so far was the league test. Did anyone catch it? I hope the Aussies and England can go through to meet in the final, yet on form, you'd have to say France NZ.

Hi Bertho - Union is anyones guess, NONE of the semi-finalists were anything like convincing despite the scorelines.
Still think it will be England /Australia but it could be France/New Zealand depends which teams are up for it on the day.
Can I just add that the standard of refereeing in all four quarter finals has left a lot to be desired!

The League Test was a great game can't remember how many games they said it was since the GB team won but they did take them close , I look forward to the rest of the series.

I shall now retire to my bed with a terminal runny nose!!!!!

If Australia's backline performs against New Zealand like they did against Scotland, England has a better chance of winning a Test Cricket series against us than our Union team
has of getting through to the final. France would have eliminated us in the quarters had we played them. For me, it's France and New Zealand for the final. I hope France wins - if only for the fact that I would go for any team playing any sport against the Kiwis!!

Well - I'm tipping Oz to beat NZ (There's not a smiley to say that's what I want to happen BUT>>>>)
Good luck to both teams - lets have an entertaining game..
(sporting note - I don't think either team has been really that good! - this one could be close!)

No matter which teams eventually go through to the final this has been a fine competition. A new sport for me too, not that I've watched many of the matches, but from what I've seen all the teams have played with such heart...very impressive.

A word for the Aussies too, you guys really know how to lay on a tourney. It's great to see the crowds really getting into the action and rooting for the underdogs.

Onya mates!!

Well that was worth waiting for - well played OZ! .

GT the game must have been a great place to be for an Oz fan - can't resist mentionimng that the crowd were singing "Sweet Chariot" when the first try went in!

A word of praise for the officials at the match they allowed the game to be played without any unnecessray intervention and went almost unnoticed unlike the Rugby League Test tonight where England lost to the Oz +1! (a penalty count of 7 to 2 was a farce) Congrats to the Oz team for winning the Ashes but England deserved to win tonights game and would have done so if the referee had been as impartial as this mornings official.

Farce ain't the word!!!!!

But I digress! Congratulations to Australia (for both codes). You can't knock a Nation that's been playing crap for most of the year and then comes good when it matters.

Believe you me......... It's very hard to type, when every single extremity is crossed!

Don't know too much of Rugby, but I watched quite a lot of the game and it was very entertaining. My hopes were shattered when the Wallbies got in the lead. Still it was an enjoyable match. So do the Wallabies get into the final ?

mate, it was absolutely brilliant. Altho' the Kiwis were rattled well before half time, most of us weren't comfortable until the clock showed less than 10 to go. Tonight it's number 2 son's turn, so we're off to see England demolish some frogs. We'll stand out a bit - we're wearing our Wallabies jumpers.
It's raining cats and dogs - anyone know any bookies who need weather forecasts before a match? lol

G mate......... not 'arf!

Twas always meant to be.

Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home,
Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home.

I looked over Jordan, and what did I see?
Coming for to carry me home,
A band of angels coming after me,
Coming for to carry me home.

Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home,
Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home.

If you get there before I do,
Coming for to carry me home,
Tell all my friends I'm coming, too.
Coming for to carry me home.

Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home,
Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home.

I'm sometimes up and sometimes down,
Coming for to carry me home,
But still my soul feels heavenly bound,
Coming for to carry me home.

Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home,
Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home.

The brightest day that I can say,
Coming for to carry me home,
When Jesus washed my sins away,
Coming for to carry me home.

Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home,
Swing low, sweet chariot,
Coming for to carry me home.

wez x

Wez - shall we teach our antipodean friends the actions that accompany the song.
First line - Hands together and swing arms below the waist ....
Second Line ............ on second thoughts perhaps not!

Another under par England performance was too good for the French although the weather was against any sort of flowing handling.
Roll on next week-end and lets hope both teams fire on all cylinders it could be a classic. Now to tip the winner - eeny meeny minee mo!

Have you got tickets GT? If so wheres the little picture for green with envy!

England to win 24-12

The Aussie pack is nowhere near strong enough. Dawson will murder Gregan, and that useless Rogers will get his buttocks slapped. As for Wendall well ....

Wezza, Fosse, other countrymen of the small Isle, could we have scripted a better RWC? The teams who have been bagged the most here, there and everywhere, for not showing up to thier potential- have snuck through to the big game AND ousted the guns along the way.

It's such a simple game isn't it. Bash their tight 5, be quick to support your breakaways, make the advantage line and give the backs a few meters to set something up.

Last nights game I thought the England tight forwards still lacked something. It was pouring rain and the game should have been up their alley. Quite a number of times options were lacking in crash ball left and right of the ruck and they just got smashed up on the blind side. I still say England were very fortunate not to meet the All Blacks and perhaps I'm not giving France enough credit.

Australia by 18 points

Good evening all and I have to say congratulations to both Australia and England. Well done to both teams and lets hope for an open running game for the final and not one that is lost or won on who has the best kicker. We are now a nation in mourning.....again!!

Davey lad......... last time I was in France, (last Wednesday as it happens on the annual pre-Chrimbo booze cruise. What a day that was!! )(wearing my England shirt, not the skin-tight one, ouch!, but the one before), it was p.... p.... p.... persistently pouring down!!

Like you say, the two teams that have been getting the most negative plaudits (out of the favourites anyhow), have got to the final. The mark of a truly great team is to scrape out a victory when they're not playing well.

Personally, I think England have been playing a canny game. and totally confused the French.

England by anything. I care not a jot if all the points come from Jonny's boots. (Just for a change!!)

Anyone else watch Sunrise this morning?

Snow White is home making luches while the dwarves have gone to the mine working for the day. She takes the lunches to them and finds that the mine has collapsed! In a shaky voice she yells down the mine .. "Hello? Anyone there?"
A small voice comes back to her. "England to beat the Wallabies!"

Snow White breathes a sigh of relief. "Phew! At least Dopey is still alive".

Bertho - agree with everything you say apart from -
England by 10! I think Englands all round game is better than the Australians and their experience of the big games will be the decider (as it was against France) PLUS THE FACT Australia haven't won in the last four games between the sides (and that includes a beating on home soil which was totally unexpected!)
Spare a thought for us Brits who are getting up at 8.00am to watch the games, and having to miss some of the because we have to go to work0 . Seriously thinking of a day being ill on thursday. (lol) New Zealand to win by 20 plus.
My forecast (and I don't think it's changed since the start of the tournament!)

Winners - England
R/up - Australia
3rd - Newe Zealand
4th - France

Everyone knows that 10 is not a multiple of 3, therefore it is an impossibility!

Fosse, I don't think it would matter if the game was only televised at 3am, to a black and white portable television that was set up next to a beanbag halfway along the Channel Tunnel. You'd be sitting in front of it!
