There used to be a time when there were a few television programs that I particularly enjoyed and would make time for, wait for, and make sure not to miss. Now, however, I cannot think of even one program that I would go out of my way to schedule other things around. It just seems there aren't any programs that are attractive to me.

It seems that some programs come on and six weeks later they are in re-runs already. Boorrrrriiing.

I must make one correction -- there might be a couple of sporting events I would make an effort to watch. Certainly no series.

Do any of you think there is much good television any more?

The TV always seems to be on but there isn't much that I MUST watch. Except for "My Family" a British comedy on Friday nights and "Kath and Kim" and Australian comedy on Thursday nights and sporting events like you said, Jar.

The problem is that many good shows were cancelled. my favourites used to be X-Files and Ally McBeal. I now have to live with the re-runs for those.
The shows that I watch now are the Simpsons (you can never go wrong with that show) and ER (not every week though)
But basically I have to agree with you guys. TV seems to get crappier each year.

It's embarrassing to confess but the only TV show I even remotely schedule my stuff around is "Survivor" now. For some reason it intrigues me to see what will happen next. It used to be that I'd never miss "Cheers" or "MASH" or "Hill Street Blues" but none of the new scripted shows seem to measure up to them. "Boomtown" is pretty good, though.

I still love "The West Wing". It is just really well shot, well written and well acted.

I used to watch the X-Files all the time too, but now I pretty much watch Stargate SG-1 and that new show Tarzan (only cause Skinner from the X-Files and Xena are in it). But yeah those two are pretty much my life

Every week, I just HAVE to watch The Amazing Race! My mother is exactly the same way with Survivor, when it is on.

I think tv is just getting crappier with these stupid trashy shows like "Joe Millionaire". I'll stick with the Simpsons.

TV is certainly not as good as it used to be....but that makes the shows that are really good seem even better! I love Law & Order, and it's on three nights a week here Normal Law & Order, SVU AND Criminal Intent

It's also hard for me to admit that i like some t.v shows, but Boy Meets World is one of my favorite t.v shows. the show contains both comedy and drama. Although the show is no longer aired. I always try to make time and watch it. I guess what i like most about this show is that i get to see how the characters' friend's and family work out their relationships. It's also very funny.

Nope, I don't watch any TV shows on now. Sometimes I turn on Enterprise, but it's been a bit of a disappointment. I'm tired of hearing about reality TV too. And I must say, I've never had the patience or interest to watch any "reality" episode from beginning to end. It just doesn't interest me. So, I watch my DVD collections and VHS tapes, primarily the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Dick Van Dyke Show, and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Im a big fan of cop shows and my one must see show every week is STINGERS because its rarely ever boring whereas most of the cop shows, while entertaining have a tendency to be monotonous, ive watched it religously every week for the past 3 years or so since i dicovered it!
I guess its lucky I am one for cop shows as its either them or reality shows that seem to dominate tv these days.... and i am NOT one for reality ...the reason i watch tv is to get away from it!
