Recently some of my microwave TV dinners have non-peelable film. For 20 years they all had film which peels straight off, so why is the technology apparently going backwards? (Very hard to open without catching fingers/cat/spilling food).

Satguru perhaps they are trying to tell you not to eat them! OR you could invent a Packet Opening tool and make a fortune.

Crikey, I forgot to update this! I finally got a reply from the company who sold them, and the actual answer was the non-peelable film was because the food in them was pasteurised after packing, which made the film impossible to peel off as a result of the heating involved. Sorry I took 2 years to answer but better late than never...

Twenty two years of eating microwave dinners? I hope these haven't been every night.
A close friend is on the Lite 'n Easy diet and the meals have a printed picture which is stuck somehow to the plastic film - impossible to open.
