The governor of California, Gray Davis, has signed a bill into law that gives illegal aliens the right to a California driver's license.
Other states are up in arms because CA driver's licenses are valid outside of CA with reciprocal agreements between the states to honor each other's driving licenses.
The Law of Unintended Consequences may apply here: CA requires a color photo and thumbprint, current address and other information (not Social Security number!) to obtain a license.
The unintended consequences are that the state will have a color photo and thumbprint of illegals thus making tracking of them much easier. Gray Davis was simply trying to insure against his recall election by getting a million or so Hispanics to vote for him. This is ethnic pandering on a grand scale.
