I don't play games all that much but I did persist with Bookworm for a while. I got the score to over 1,000,000 and sent this picture to a friend of mine to prove it (you can see why I didn't get any further!). He sent a picture back a couple of days later showing that he'd got a good few thousand more than I did. I haven't got that high since.
My title after getting this high was 'Bookworm'

I got addicted to bookworm as well. Plus there is an online version of Settlers of Catan, a very addictive group board game.
For a gift last year by husband surprised me with my real first PC game called "Dungeon Siege". While I'm still a beginner and sometimes (okay more than sometimes) have to rely on hints and codes, I'm having fun with it.

I can't believe anyone hasn't mentioned Quake or Unreal Tournament. They are why the PC was invented!

I remember Prince of Persia as this game was an office favorite when we all worked weird shifts......If I recall correctly, you only had 1 hour to beat the game. Most people in my office gave up after I had completed it, as they wanted to be first !!

I love any RPG's especially those which D & D rules like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale etc Racing Simulations like NFS, Test Drive etc; of course the 'commando' series! Other than that, there are games like COUNTERSTRIKE, IGI etc which are too good to be true
BUT my favourite, by a long way, is GTA 3 and Vice City. (similarly Mafia)

I really enjoy Civ II. Civ was a bit too simple and clunky, Civ III has nice posey graphics but has become too much of a war game, CIv II is just perfect.
Just occasionally I will play a flight simulation but as I keep crashing anything bigger than a Cessna I get bored with it easily.

Dave is an all time classic. When you're wounded of fighting commandoes or fatigued of hitting fours on Brian Lara Cricken on PC, just go for Dave.

Well, has anyone played the Sherlock Holmes game. That's all a sort of mind game plus some action. That's better than Harry Potter game.

A bit out of context with the thread since I already mentioned Bookworm, but maybe anyone else who plays this game will be interested. After 19 hours and 22 minutes (ten minutes here, half an hour there over a good number of days) I got the score up to 1,837,460. The title doesn't change after Bookworm Supreme. It just goes Bookworm Supreme 1,2 (and 3 I'd think if it goes higher). I'm fed up with the game now so this should be last time of posting on it. A picture to behold!

Bookworm is can be played free through Yahoo! Games; out here. From what I see, it's one of the more popular ones! The shareware version of the game can be downloaded from here, but you'll have to pay to get the full-version!

I downloaded and bought the full version of Bookworm. I also bought a couple of other games on offer for a bit of extra cost. I don't usually play them all that much (Bookworm has been an exception up to now) but they will be good as stand-by entertainment when the grandchildren come to stay and it's wet or cold outside.

Has anyone played Under the killing moon or Indiana Jones? Yes these two games are older but good, I like adventure games.

Yeah, I've played Tomb Raider. However, I've only played it on the Playstation and a bit on the Nokia N-Gage.
