I stumbled on a book of interest to any USAF WWII combat veteran while going through our library book sale.
It is entitled: "Combat Squadrons of the Air Force, World War II."
Tell me your squadron and I'll look it up for you; it gives lineage, assignments, stations, aircraft, operations, service streamers, decorations, campaigns, and squadron emblem. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce the emblem for display on FunTrivia.
I will send it to you via PM or e-mail. If you prefer e-mail, please do not post your e-mail address here, but in your PM.
Off we go into the wild blue yonder!

hi all
i am a korean war vet but i have interviewed for my newsletter here (at the veterans home in retsil, washington, usa) a wwii vet with 29 missions piloting a b17 (based in england). he said he had piloted 6 different b17s.
have anything on b17s? or it exclusively about fighter planes?
