Sarah Bernhardt was one of the most famous stage actresses of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. "The Divine Sarah,"
as she was known, was also quite an eccentric. For example,she slept in a coffin. As far as we know, Ms. Bernhardt, who died in 1923, is still following that practice.
